My family and I are Christian's as well, but my parents have never had to make a choice if I could FOL or not. But I can understand the Division. My dad doesn't like it because he doesn't want me to think it's ok to do the things that people on the show do(i'm not that stupid) and also because they swear and he doesn't think i'm old enough to hear it but i'm old enough to watch it by myself according to the t.v guid.

Geez, sucks for you guys with over-protective parents.
T.V. does not rot your brain... ( well, somewhat )
It's funny, because I remember watching Terminator 2 in the theatres when I was 6...
talk about over protective parents...

As far as I can recall the only show my parents were reluctant about me watching was "Picket Fences". That was only cause the stupid advertisement for it before it showed its premier was a person clicking a stick along a picket fence. It sorta gave my parents the creeps. But after they watched it they found it wasn't bad. So basically as long as I watched stuff with my parents, or they saw it first, I could watch whatever.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't say parents are babying their kids just because they monitor what they are watching on tv. I know there are some parents who go completely overboard, and I agree that is bad, but most parents aren't that extreme. When I was growing up there were some things I wasn't allowed to watch. And I certainly don't think my parents were over-protective.

Cool

Nope, I can watch whatever I want, I don't need my parents permission for anything, I was born in 1980 and watched FOL all the time when I was little and I even watched the soap All My Children with my mom since I was 5. I think parents go overboard when it comes to some things.
