I never knew that Rory("Chuckie") was "Larry's" little brother! (I guess I didn't pay too much attention to the credits.) I was just thinking about that little kid tonight, when I saw him in the episode "Beaver's Frogs". He was a cute, talented little tyke, and I wondered if he'd acted in anything else. (I don't think he looks that much like Rusty, though, except for the blonde hair.)
Did the brothers appear in any episodes together? "Beaver's Frogs" had Richard and Gilbert, but not Larry. (I don't think, anyway, unless I missed something...) |

THIS IS MYSTERY TO ALL LOYAL BEAVER FANS, BUT SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT LARRY LEFT THE SHOW TO GO LIVE WITH HIS PARENTS ON THE EAST COAST DUE TO HIS FATHER'S CHANGE OF JOB LOCATION. BUT RORY STAYED BEHIND AND CONTINUED ACTING FOR MANY MORE YEARS, UNTIL HE WAS AN ADULT.
WHY DID RORY STAY IN CALIFORNIA WHO JUST HAD GUEST ROLES, AND RUSTY WHO HAD A STEADY GIG LEAVE? ALSO IF YOU SEE THE TIMES THAT RORY APPEARED ON THE SHOW, HE MADE MOST OF HIS APPEARANCES MOSTLY AFTER RUSTY WAS GONE. ![]() I GUESS THIS IS ONE QUESTION WE WILL ALL PONDER UNTIL WE GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER FROM A CAST MEMBER OF LITB. http://www.leaveittobeaver.org/images/bs32-61.jpg http://www.z-ride2.com/s/rs10.jpg |

Rusty should have stayed with LITB. It would have been great to have seen him in the later eps, IMO he was the funniest of all of Beavers friends.

Could it be that Rusty and Rory were half-brothers, with the same mom but different dads, and Rusty's parents decided for some reason that he should go live with his dad? (They probably had the same parents, but this is just a thought...)

Adding to the Rusty Stevens mystery:
Rusty appeared in the Perry Mason episode "The Case of the Dodging Domino", which was broadcast on Nov. 1, 1962. This is well after his last LITB appearence and well after he would have moved east. He has a brief, non-speaking role, but it is interesting to see him older. |
