Default Slightly OT - Nick at Nite Holiday Special ?!?

Okay, this thing has been hyped up for a few weeks now.
It's TOTALLY not worth it. There's no one from 'Wings', but
Al Roker made references to "Huxtable Overpass" and "Alex P. Keaton" airport.
Family Ties and Cosby Show... the staples of N@N.
What a ripoff. It would have been funky/cheesy to see a few 'Wings' characters
sitting near the N@N Hotel fire singing a carol or reading a story to the children.
I would have actually taped it and sent it to Matt from www.x-entertainment.com
just for the purpose of him doing a scathing, silly review.

Oh, I just KNEW that nobody from "Wings" would be on that thing when I first heard about it...although it would have been nice to have them on. They still look great, so it wouldn't have been one of those "Oh my GOD, what HAPPENED to him?" type of shocks that you sometimes get when you see a cast member from an older show making a new appearance (like they've gained 60 pounds, or now they're bald or super-wrinkled, etc.).

Yes, I noticed that about Al Roker's "airport" remark....Couldn't even get one lousy reference to "Tom Nevers Airport" or Nantucket in there, could you, Al?

Oh well, it COULD have been worse.....Bill Cosby and Roseanne Barr could have shown up at the front door and thrown everyone out: "What are all of these NOBODYS doing here? Everybody OUT....This is OUR cable network!".

Actually, I'm surprised that none of the guys from 'Wings' have developed distinguishing gray streaks in their hair like Mr. Scheffield from "The Nanny". (Although the super-wrinkled thing MIGHT apply to THC. He is devloping more creases in his face)

There was the chick from "Sister, Sister" that ate too much, Raven was on there (I'd like to kick HER around) and KENNY LOGGINS?!? WTF? I thought he was doing Winnie The Pooh music now!

That show was just the epitome of ridiculousness. The only thing that made it ANY good was Sarah McLachlan's appearance. I found it really moving actually. Maybe you guys should consider it a good thing that none of them had anything to do with it.

Whenever I get a Nantucket fruit drink I smile, lol.

I'm in the minority, I loved it! Amy Grant and Vince Gill are my favs. Natalie Cole sang a beautiful song, and Ted Danson has a great story telling voice.

FAmily Ties isn't a N@N staple, they treated it as badly as they have Wings, plus they don't even air it anymore.

Actually, it was back in the day (2000, 2001?) before 'Wings' came about on N@N.
It's a staple because people KNEW about it and they COULDN'T get away from it at the time.
I actually remember there being ads played.

BTW, Do they still play that "Modern TV" commercial with "Airplane Mechanic... and his big wrench!"?

Alright! A "Perfect Strangers" fan!

That's why I love this place. All of my favorite shows are shared between everyone here,

(Besides Wings of course)

Snoopy - NewsRadio, Taxi, Andy Richter ...

AngeFaitore - Ned & Stacey, Perfect Strangers, King of Queens.

Krista 2882 - Farscape, (I think you mentioned liking "Sliders")

Pilotguy - A lot of the older shows from the 50s and 60s which I love.

Topanga - Boy Meets World.

Janice - Mister Ed

Ummm, to the Holiday special, I didn't see it. And I don't plan to.

I know. I think it's original broadcast was way too soon. Wasn't it still November when they aired it? I'd say once on December 23 and 24 would be enough.

Actually, I'm not a devoted fan. I just made a referrence to it. I liked Family Matters better.
My three FAVORITE shows are N&S, Wings and The Simpsons.
Well, okay, I also love Beavis and Butthead. I think that was apparent when I had Beavis's picture a week ago.

That's it, you're dead to me now.

Just kidding.

My friends that I bowl with every week have never heard of Perfect Strangers. So at least you know what the show is.

In the late 80s to the mid-90s, you'd be dead NOT to know what the TGIF shows were!
As a child, I used to watch all the TGIF shows.

Do you remember the PS episode where Larry and Balki got the home security system and they were trying to dodge the lasers?
