I wonder what stopped Sanford and Son from surpassing All in the Family in the Rating - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

THese two shows were very close in the ratings. S&S finished behind AITF in 72, 73, 74, and was very close to AITF after the 74-75 season.

After 74-75
All in the Family-30.2
Sanford and Son- 29.6

I will always wonder if All in the Family could have still beat Sanford and Son if they were both on at the same Time.

My guess would be yes.

So much has changed since the 70's. Most shows would kill just to do a rating 1/2 what those rating did.
