Default Why Don't You Like the Sitcoms You Don't Like?

Without being rude (hopefully) out of the shows you DON'T like, explain what it is you don't like about them.

Sanford and Son - While Red Foxx made so many laugh, I never found him that funny. I didn't have a problem with any of the other actors, or the writing. I got tired very quickly of Fred's "I'm comin' to join you" and "You Big Dummy." But again, I know so many people love that.

Friends - It was alright in the beginning. And it's no fault to any of the actors, the show just doesn't grab my attention anymore. I find myself watching a full episodes and laughing only once.

I'll add more later.

What about you?

many sitcoms I have tried and just can't get into... I either find them unfunny or the whole show not my type.

Happy Days - it is stupid, unfunny and the characters don't act right.
Drew Carey Show - Drew annoys me and the stories they do are dumb

Gilligan's Island - the theme song is corny, the premise is corny, and the episodes are corny.

Here are ten:

Beverly Hills, 90210: It was placed in the same timeslot as The Wonder Years for at least one season.

Boy Meets World: It was called "The Wonder Years with a lobotomy" (or similar) in at least one publication. I tried to get into it, but it was like TWY taking place in the 1990s, which was one of the most boring decades ever IMHO. (For the record, if TWY portrayed life like it was in the 1990s instead of the 1960s and 1970s, I never would have watched it.)

Cheers (or, as I like to call it, "Bronx Cheers"): Sorry, but I just never found it funny. It got all the attention at the end of the 1992-93 season, the same time The Wonder Years got canceled and nobody noticed.

The Facts of Life: Boring and overrated, unlike the show from which it was spun (Diff'rent Strokes).

Friends: This show would be worth watching if it were modeled after The Andy Griffith Show.

Married ... with Children: It lasted 10˝ seasons, which is 10˝ too many. I found it too offensive. People protested it, and Fox should have listened to them instead, possibly by resurrecting Our House (on NBC from 1986-88).

The Mary Tyler Moore Show: It never was funny IMHO. I tried watching it, but it could not hold my attention one second.

Murphy Brown: Vice President Dan Quayle criticized Murphy for being a pregnant unwed mother and was right to do so.

The Simpsons: It's time for them to go. How old is Bart now, 40?

Three's Company: No offense to the late great John Ritter, but I never found this show funny. Mr. Ritter was much more suited for the role of the Rev. Matthew Fordwyck on The Waltons.

Honeymooners- I hate Ralph. He yells too much at Alice...and everyone else.

Beverly Hillbillies- The characters were just insanely stupid and I can't take it.

Gilligan's Island- see BH

Green Acres- See GI

Jeffersons- George yells too much.

Three's Company- I no longer have much of a tolerance for slapstick comedy. I just think it's stupid.

8 Simple Rules- Okay, so I don't hate this show by any means, and maybe it's changed now, but I thought the oldest sister was completely annoying. She ruined it.

Friends- I don't think it's funny and Ross is annoying. Plus, I tend to dislike bandwagon shows...you know, the ones it seems like everyone in America loves.

Sex and the City- Just dumb.

Will and Grace- Annoying and dumb.

Our House was too boring to last that long.

I'm the same way. I find the shows that are less popular to be far more superior quality wise. But people don't give them chances. It's like whenever a good show comes along, they ditch it to bring on either a rerun of a crappy show, or brand new crappy show.

(That's right, I'm still bitter about the cancellation of "Andy Richter Controls the Universe")
