Default Steven Weber Stars in New ABC Drama

Looks like the guest stint on I'm With Her payed off--though, this drama was created well before that.

"The D.A." -- ABC has picked up four episodes of the drama (including the pilot episode) from Warner Bros. TV and the Shephard/Robin Co.

Series focuses on an ambitious district attorney (Steven Weber) and his chief investigator (Bruno Campos), who lead a department investigating high-profile cases.

The show will air this mid-season. Timeslot and day TBD.

I was nervous when I went down and saw that Pavanbadal had posted on the Wings board, I thought he was going to say that Wings was canceled from N@N. Or moved to a worse slot ... I don't know what that would be, but I'm sure N@N could find it.

As for the topic, I'm glad Weber's still working. I probably won't watch his show, because I'm not into dramas. But it's always nice to know that one of your favorite actors is not a has been.

I know what you mean....It seems like every time poor Pavanbadal posts a message here, it's to tell us about the latest terrible "Wings" scheduling move by NICK!

It's OK, Pavanbadal....You're just reporting the facts and we don't hold it against you!

Steven Weber getting a new series is also good news because it gives us the opportunity to possibly see some "Wings" cast members appear as guest stars.....It would be great to see Steven and Tim Daly appearing together in a dramatic show!

While I think we now have more than enough crime dramas and law dramas on TV, I still wish Steven the best He's such an under-rated actor.

I know that we currently have an oversupply of crime/law dramas on TV, but something tells me that having Steven starring in one will make it something special, and a cut above the competition.

Not that I watch much television, and what follows is the main reason why...but anything that takes the time slot that might possibly otherwise go to a reality show I'M ALL FOR.

Yeah, really. It was cool in 2000, but Survivor is pretty lame now.
Reality shows are changing to talent shows now. Star Search all over again!
The only reality game show I watch is that Japanese one on SpikeTV with the funny dubbing.

Thomas Haden Church really needs to get back on the sitcom bandwagon.
He needs a self-titled one.

Unfortunately, my wife is into those romance-oriented "reality" shows like "The Bachelor", "The Bachelorette", "Joe Millionaire", etc....YUK!!!!

I always tell her, "You want to see romance? You want to see REAL romance? Then watch the "Joe and Helen" relationship develop on "WINGS"....It doesn't GET any better or more romantic than THAT!".

I just CAN'T understand her watching those "reality romance" kind of shows when she has a super-romantic stud-muffin like ME for a husband!

lol! My mom watches that crap too!! Last week she was all psyched about seeing the last episode of "The Bachelor"... That show is soooo lame, and wrong on so many levels. lol.
I hate all of those shows.
Speaking of reality shows, the one that I hate the most though is that "Extreme Makover" show. Personally, I think it's wrong to have plastic surgery just to make yourserlf look better. I can totally understand it if someone got in an accident or something, and needs facial reconstructive surgery or something to help themselves look close to the way they looked before, but personally, I don't think you should alter your body just for the heck of it. God made you that way for a reason...
And I also automatically lose respect for any woman who has breast-enhancement surgery. wear a padded bra if you're that self-concious!

lol sorry, I'll get off my soap box now and do my homework.....

What Krista said, what Krista said, and what Krista said, lol.
It's good to know so many other people can't stand those shows. I'm lucky in the fact that nobody in my house can stand them tho, so they're never on.
I've found that my tastes are pretty evenly divided between comedies and dramas. I hope Steven Weber's new show will be interesting. I get bored with law dramas, so all the best to him!

THE NEW ABC DRAMA SERIES, “THE D.A.,” TO PREMIERE FRIDAY, MARCH 19

Former Los Angeles District Attorney Gil Garcetti Serves as a Consulting Producer on the Show

The new drama series “The D.A.,” which is set in the intriguing world of big city law and politics, is scheduled to premiere FRIDAY, MARCH 19 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network, and will air over four consecutive weeks, the network announced today.

“20/20,” ABC News’ award-winning newsmagazine which has recorded strong ratings throughout the current season, will air special editions on Monday, March 22 and Monday, March 29 at 10:00 p.m., ET. “20/20” will return to its regular time period on Friday, April 16, at 10:00 p.m., ET, after “The D.A.” concludes its four episode run.

“The D.A.” is set in the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, where D.A. David Franks (Steven Weber) oversees a vast, sprawling jurisdiction, leading a group of remarkable professionals – and deeply flawed personalities – in the pursuit of justice. David’s relentless, no-holds-barred Deputy District
Attorney, Mark Camacho (Bruno Campos), is an idealist who lives for the law and won’t stop short of the truth. David and Mark are colleagues one minute and opponents the next. The two men have a rocky relationship in which mutual respect balances their conflicting means to a common end. The crimes they investigate and the suspects they break are headline-making career-builders. But self-interest, grudges, private vendettas and illicit affairs simmer just below the polished public face of this District Attorney’s office.

In the premiere episode, “The People vs. Sergius Kovinsky,” Los Angeles District Attorney David Franks is forced to fight for his political future when his office comes under investigation after a Russian mob witness is shot to death and it’s suspected someone leaked the witness’ identity. Also shot were two investigators and Shelly Ward, a young prosecutor, mother and wife, who was there to film a statement from the witness. Deputy District Attorney Mark Camacho is brought in from a field office to investigate the case, and begins to suspect that someone may have leaked the identity and location of the witness to the Russian mob. D.A. David Franks’ problems become even more complicated when he starts to believe that some of his staff members may have loyalties that lie elsewhere. With this crisis getting so much attention from the media, Franks finds that his much needed gubernatorial endorsement from the Mayor is
apparently crumbling.

The series stars Steven Weber as District Attorney David Franks, Bruno Campos as Deputy District Attorney Mark Camacho, Michaela Conlin as Jinette McMahon, J.K. Simmons as Deputy District Attorney Joe Carter and Sarah Paulson as Chief Deputy District Attorney Lisa Patterson.

“The People Vs. Sergius Kovinsky,” was written by James Duff and directed by Michael M. Robin.

Guest starring are Aunjanue Ellis as Ellen Kaufman, Peter Outerbridge as Jerry Weicker, Tony Denison as Paul Harper, Michael Woods as Det. Andy Flynn, John Aylward as Mayor Edwards, Rick Kelly as Larry Ward, Anna Gunn as Shelly
Ward, Ashleigh Balestrero as Andrew Ward, Christian Boewe as John Ward, Cheryl White as Kathy Franks, Efrain Figueroa as Judge Rodriguez, Saba Homayoon as Denise Clark, Ilia Volok as Davonovich, Alex Kuzne as Sergius Kovinskty, Scott Richards as Attorney Davidson, Kevin Chamberlain as Prosecutor Eams, Dan Desmond as minister, Shishir Kurup as Howard, Rikki Klieman as television reporter and Charlene Amoia as reporter no. 1.

James Duff (“Enterprise,” “The War At Home,” “Doing Time on Maple Drive”) is writer and executive producer. Greer Shephard (“Nip/Tuck,” “Popular”) and Michael M. Robin (“Nip/Tuck,” “L.A. Law,” “NYPD Blue,” “Popular”) -- who also directs -- are executive producers of the series. Former Los Angeles District Attorney Gil Garcetti serves as a consulting producer on the show, which is a
production of The Shephard/Robin Company in association with Warner Bros. Television Production Inc.

“The D.A.” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound.

Hmmm....Sounds like some of the old "give and take" sparring/friendship that the Hackett brothers had!
