Post Gary Coleman's Illness

During the mid-point of the 1984-1985 season, there were a few episodes I remember, including the episode of the 1984 olympics which aired on the marathan that did have Arnold in the shows. There were I believe 4 or 5 episodes that didn't have him at all. I heard on ET that Gary Coleman had some sort of illness that developed later on during the show and at some point couldn't perform his lines. What was the illness if anybody knows? He probley miss 4-5 episodes because they taped a series of episodes in one week.

He's had a history of kidney problems, which is why he missed a few episodes (he missed a few shows before 1984-85 as well).

They only shot one episode per week. Here's some info from the E! True Hollywood Story:

A typical schedule of a Diff'rent Strokes episode: Wednesday- they got a new script;
Wednesday-Friday work in a rehearsal hall; off the weekend; Monday- camera block with the set and props; shoot twice on Tuesdays

On November 10, 1984 production was halted. Gary Coleman checked into the UCLA
Medical Center to undergo another kidney transplant. The kidney gave out a year later.

Well I don't remember too much about the 84-85 season but I do know he is missing a lot in the beginning of the 81-82 season.
