Did any other Good Times Fan know who Rona Barrett was?? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Remember when James called Willona the Rona Barrett of the Projects? I didn't find out who she was until I read a 1974 TV Guide and saw that she was a news anchorwoman. But i still don't know if she was a local or national TV news woman because the writers of Good Times never mentioned that in any episode. WAs Rona Barret a known News Woman during the 1970's??

Okay here goes............

Rona Barrett was a famous Hollywood gossiper. She had her own gossip magazine in the 70's called Rona Barrett's Hollywood and Rona Barrett's Gossip. She would tattletale about everyone in Hollywood. Just like the Star, Enquirer and other magazines.

If she were still doing it today she would have a field day with Micheal Jackson, J-Lo and the others............

So I guess Wilona was a big GOSSIPER.............

Is She still alive? When did she stop reporting?

Rona Barrett is still alive but, she stopped gossiping. She used to get threats every now and then so maybe that's why she stopped. I did see her on a talk show once (last year) and she still looks the same. She does guest appearances and she sells her lavender oils on QVC.
