Default SNL Season Sets

With the release of Kids in the Hall and SCTV on DVD in season sets....

do you think that season sets of SNL are possible??

I dont want to buy the "best-ofs" if Season sets are in the works.

I think anything is possible if a company is willing enough to get music rights and stuff cleared

I'll tell you what SNL should do if they decide to release season sets of SNL. They should either release 5 seasons at a time, or release season 1 and the last full season (season 28 this year) simotaniously, and then release season 2 and season 27 simotaniously, and keep going until they make it to the middle.

IMO, the way they should do it is like this.

Release the 75-76, 85-86 and 95-96 seasons at the same time... since in many ways, those 3 seasons were "beginnings" to the show, since 75 was the beginning, and the 84-85 and 94-95 casts had been wiped out and replaced by newbies.. And then move on to 76-77, 86-87, 96-97, and on and on, maybe 6 months at a time. That way every SNL fan will be happy since everyone has their favorite eras.

That is a great idea, never thought about that. Though I would like to devide the 1979-80, and 1980-81 seasons also, because that cast is also very different, and I don't want to wait to long to have a season of one of my favorite eras, the Eddie Murphy era.

And my idea of 5 season sets is not a good idea, because it would cost alot and require a lot of disc. An SNL season set would be extra disk then other shows because it is 90 minutes long (subtracting from commerical breaks), but most SNL seasons are only 20 episodes, compaired to the usual 22 episodes on todays sitcoms.

I think we all agree, that SNL should be treated differently then other shows, because it ran so long. Releasing just the 1st season, and going season to season, every six months, would just take to long.
