I missed the beginning of an episode 1-2 weeks ago about a Cleveland area teenage boy who went missing after a party. Sadly, he was found dead in an abandoned feild days later. The scary part was that he had only been dead a short time, and a mysterious stranger (from Detriot, I think) had predicted that the boy would be found dead.
There was also a small aside at the end that there had been a similar homicide in the area where a younger boy had been found in much the same way (missing one shoe). Does anyone out there remember any of the names or other info about this case? |

I have this story on one of my tapes so I just watched it to refresh my memory. His name was Kurt Sova, 17, and he was found on October 28, 1981 in Newburgh Heights near Cleveland. He had been missing for 5 days but oddly the coroner couldn't find out what the cause of death was and said he had only been dead 24-36 hours which meant he was alive the first 3 days he was missing. Another strange thing was he was missing his right shoe. A friend said he had been to a party at a duplex. When Kurt's mother asked the girl that lived there about it and she first denied, then admitted that he had been there at her party the night he disappeared. The friend said he had been drinking heavily and he took him outside to get some air. The friend went back in to get his coat and he said when he came back Kurt was gone. Strangely, Kurt's body was found just 500 yards from the duplex where the party was. During the 5 days he was missing a friend of Kurt's said he saw Kurt and another guy walking down the road and they got in a van. Another man saw his missing poster in a store and told the manager they were going to find him dead in 2 days and no one would know what he died from. He was right but police dismissed him as a crazy from Detroit. Then 3 months after Kurt was found a boy that Kurt used to know, Eugene Kivet (not sure how to spell the last name) was found dead not far from where Kurt was found. Oddly, they couldn't determine a cause of death for him either and his right shoe was also missing! Hope this helps!

I also wonder if the Kurt Sova case ever got solved or if any new clues came up. That poor kid, I feel so sorry for his family not knowing how Kurt died or if he was murdered, which he most likely was. I have put Kurt Sova's name in search engines and nothing ever comes up. His name should be kept in the news headlines because this is still unsolved and his family needs closure.
