Default Dec 02: SEABEE JEEBIES

When his ex-wife Maris is accused of murdering her lover, the media frenzy surrounding her trial makes Niles (David Hyde Pierce) a celebrity. Daphne (Jane Leeves) enjoys their newfound fame while Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) grows increasingly jealous of the attention paid to his brother. Meanwhile, Roz (Peri Gilpin) has a difficult time dealing with her insulting sister (guest star Suzanne Cryer). John Mahoney also stars. TV-PG

They should start giving Roz a more beefier role.

Not me.
Im an anti-Maris.

I think the character of Maris would be completely destroyed if she were ever seen.

About Peri Gilpin
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Peri Gilpin figures she was destined to portray a character such as radio producer Roz Doyle on “Frasier.” For one thing, her late father, Jim O’Brien, was a nationally known broadcaster who used to take his daughter into a radio station in Dallas to sing “Happy Birthday” over the airwaves. Later, she worked in Hollywood with the producer of “Wings,” the late Roz Doyle, her character’s namesake.

Born in Waco, Texas, Gilpin was raised in Dallas, where she studied acting at the Dallas Theater Center. After high school she continued her acting studies at the University of Texas at Austin and at the British-American Academy in London.

Returning to the United States, she found work in Dallas as a makeup artist, but her lifelong desire to act motivated her to become an apprentice with the renowned Williamstown (Massachusetts) Theatre Festival. Her stage credits include starring in the off-Broadway production of “As Bees in Honey Drown” at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, the off-Broadway production of “Lucky Lucy and the Fortune Man,” as Helena in the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival’s production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and in numerous regional theater productions, including “The Crucible,” “Hawthorne County” and “The Maderati” (for which she also served as associate producer).

Recently, Gilpin was seen in the independent film “Spring Forward” with Liev Schreiber, Campbell Scott, Lili Taylor and Ned Beatty. She can also be seen in “How to Kill Your Neighbor’s Dog” with Kenneth Branagh and Robin Wright Penn (which premiered at the 2000 Toronto Film Festival). She starred in “Laughter on the 23rd Floor” with Nathan Lane. Her additional television credits include the movies “The Secret She Carried” and “Fight for Justice: The Nancy Conn Story.” She was a series regular on “Flesh ’N’ Blood” and has guest-starred in such series as NBC’s “Cheers,” “Wings,” “Designing Women,” “21 Jump Street” and “The Outer Limits.”

On the Los Angeles stage, Gilpin appeared in “The Maderati” at the Tiffany Theater while also serving as associate producer.

Gilpin and her “Frasier” co-star Jane Leeves have formed a production company entitled Bristol Cities where they are developing film and television projects.

Gilpin lives in Los Angeles with her husband, artist Christian Vincent, and their three dogs. Her birthday is May 27.

I was thinking the exact same thing myself.

I was left wondering if I had missed something after watching last week's episode.

Do you think the episodes were maybe shown out of sequence? It seems really bizarre that they built up this whole plotline with Marris, and then air an episode that doesn't acknowledge the situation at all, only to hop right back into it.

I think maybe they pushed up Lilith's appearance for November sweeps.

I think, just like in real life, sometimes a series of events happen at the same time. And remember, just because *we* didn't see it happen on camera, it doesn't mean that after Frasier and Lilith ordered dinner that they didn't talk all about Maris' murder charge. Or that after Niles, Daphne and Martin got the apartment cleaned up, Martin didn't ask Niles how the case was going with Maris. These characters *do* have a life after the camera moves on *you know*! <VBG> ;-)

It also makes sense that since Niles had come to the decision finally not to let Maris' situation dominate his life (we just saw in the last episode how angry that got Daphne and how the stress had caused him to flip out) he might not want to bring it up when Lilith came over to Frasier's apartment, judging it was better to talk about something more positive - like Daphne's pregnancy (since that was what Lilith brought up first as well for a topic of conversation).

Yes. Frasier is twice nominated for a Seabee and also is a presenter during the show I believe. Roz is also supposed to accept an award for someone who can't make it. Sounds like a good one with lots of sibling conflict! :-))
