What was Ward Cleavers job?

In Leave it to Beaver's six year run, Ward's occupation was never revealed. The firm he works for has several offices around the country. It might have been an accounting firm.

My opinion would be that he was an engineer of some sort, because he was in the See-Bees.

Actually, Ward was in the Witness Protection Plan, as his former neighbors found out he was feeding and caring for Eddie. Ward denied this, but it was felt to be safer for him to move out of town.
