I heard it at about 7:00 on September 11th, on the radio. I had just heard of John Ritter's death. I was shocked! Certainly they were not talking about John Ritter, the actor. I figured they were mistaken. I stepped out of my moms car and went to school the whole day with a knot in my stomach. When i got home I rushed to the radio turned it on and turned on the news too. but my worst fears had been confirmed. I guess i was just in shock or maybye I just didnt comprehend that the man was dead (he was like my hero after all)I went into my room and turned on the T.V. Three's Company was on. I had barely heard the beginning of the theme song when I just broke down. I colapsed onto the floor with a blood-curdling scream (as my mother later described it) My hero had died. I was inconsolable for days. I guess the most shock had come when I thought about " 8 Simple Rules" hwat would happen to his show?!?!?! After the last three episodes that he did were shown I waited patiently for the next show, the following week. I was still expecting him to walk thru the dooor as usuall has bubbly father figure like slef on the sitcom. but he never did. The actors were crying, heart-felt tears of anger & sadness. They were not faking it. "He's really gone then". I told myself. It's sort of funny now, i still cry about it even theought i had never met hima dnnever saw him in person. I guess that I was just so used to him being described by other people and just felt like i knew him.
i have to go i will write more later. |
