Default Could A&E pick up UM now and if not then when?

I heard that A&E was bidding for UM with Lifetime in the past. So, now that Lifetime are as*holes and dumping UM then can't A&E pick up UM and start broadcasting it and if not now then when?

THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR INPUT

Since Lifetime has the rights to air it(just like any network has the right to run sitcom reruns) until that runs out, no other network can pick it up, unless Lifetime really wants to sell it to another network.

When does Lifetime's rights to UM end?

Probably not til 2005 or so... I think in 2002, their rights ran out, but they renewed it. I think it will at least be 2005, maybe 2006 or 2007.

Wow! Talk about major suckage!! Why did they renew UM when they weren't even going to show it until the close of their renewal?? That's highly unfair, because now other networks can't even vie to have it on their network!!!! GRRRR..... Also, I was thinking it would be pretty cool if maybe F/X started showing UM sometime, because all they ever show are reruns of Buffy and 90210, UM would help boost their ratings.

Actually, it was renewed in 2001 I believe. The deal was they wanted more new episodes to be made, but since Stack died, Lifetime doesn't care about the show.

Well then it's only right that they sell the rights to another network which will have actual interest in the show.

Something needs to be done because the situation truly bites.

Thumbs down

I don't think they will do that, they know if they sell it to another network, that their ratings will soar and Lametime doesn't want that.

I wish they would do it... but until the rights to air it are up, I don't think so.

Robert Stack didn't make the show. It was THE VERY INTERESTING UNSOLVED MYSTERIES THAT MADE THE SHOW!!

THIS WAS THE MOST INTELLECTUALLY STIMULATING SHOW ON TV ANYWHERE!!

Where else can you find a show with such mystery, intrigue, drama, and suspense WHICH IS BASED ON ALL TRUE STORIES!! NOWHERE!!

I admit Robert Stack was very good but it was the mysteries themselves that made the show.

You know that guy who narrates all those Discovery CHannel shows like FBI Files and New Detectives? He has an ideal voice like Robert Stack so he would be a good replacement or what about Keely Shay Smith herself since it IS THE MYSTERIES THAT MAKE THE SHOW NOT THE HOST!!

So, Lifetime or some other network has to eventually pick it up!!

I understand that, but Lifetime doesn't. They don't even want to take the effort to update even the most popular stories(Rudolph capture) so you know when they don't do that that they don't care... I bet Robert Stack is so mad right now!

If you hear about the Lifetime HQ being destroyed by fire... you'll know who did it.

Hey, I'll narrate the show for FREE!!! Hows that!

I did get a response today from my e-mail to Lifetime. It said they occasionally change the line up and UM was not on the schedule. Then the e-mail told me about a new show going to be on about real life sleuthing. It is hosted by former FBI detective Candice Delong and it's called,"What Should You Do".
I guess like what to do in case of emergency. Do I care? I don't want reality!! I want Unsolved Mysteries. Astonishing cases and Unsolved crimes and Missing people.

I am sooooooo disappointed!

I'm NEVER watching Lifetime EVER again til UM comes back... I deleted it off my TV today so when I am flipping channels I can't stop by there. I will be watching to see if it comes back, but I don't think it will.

Oh and Unsolved Mysteries doesn't compare to that crappy new show.

BTW: That is an auto-response Dilly.
