Talking I solved the "lambchops and pink panties" mystery!!!!!

Yippee!!! I finally solved this mystery that we've been wondering about!

For those of you who don't know about this, for a long time now we've been trying to figure out why Sam tells Alice that he gave her some "lambchops and pink panties" in the episode "The Elopement."

I inadvertently came across this on a cooking website and about had a heart-attack because it solves the "lamb chop mystery" once and for all. Here's what the article said about lamb chops:

Quote:
Dainty and delectable little chops. The fat is well trimmed, and the end of the bone is left bare. This leaves a little circle of meat attached to a spare bone. For company meals, the bone can be dressed up with frilly paper ´´panties``so that it can be held in the fingers for eating.
Apparently "panties" are those white paper caps that you see on the ends of meat bones on shows and/or cartoons. So I guess that Sam was saying, "Four extra lamb chops IN (NOT "and) pink panties. Well, that explains a lot!

I'll sleep better knowing Sam's not a closet perve.

Good for you! Now that makes sense. I wonder if Sam got a laugh with that comment or was it taken seriously. You are right about meat wrapped in the panties in cartoons. Hey I grew up watching those.

I happened to be watching an episode of Mr Ed the other day (the ep in which Wilbur's wife wants him to buy her a new refrigerator), and Wilbur referred to "panties" in that episode as he was handling some kind of meat...

I wasn't paying too much attention to that scene, but Wilbur mentioned the word "panties". Now, thanks to this site (actually, thanks to Elizabeth B), I knew what he was talking about...
