Post Evidence of Cut Episodes

I GOT TOTAL !!)% proof of how stupid N@N is with this. I'm watching a taped episode of "september Song" and the scrren goes dark for about a minute then picks up in the middle of a sentence. I remember it doing this while I was watching it too.

Amen to that! I was taping the show when it ran on USA, you know, trying to see all the episodes that I missed when it first aired.

Apparently, USA was bad to make arbitrary cuts to the episodes too. I've seen stuff on Nick at Nite that wasn't in the USA versions. Imagine some little network techie deciding what minutes have to go so that the station can sell more soda pop! <Grrrrr!>

Angry

I'm getting very sick and tired of NAN cutting out parts of the show and not showing every episode. I mean when NBC aired the facts they showed everything and their a national network, everyone can get this channel but not everyone can get NAN. Also NBC had the facts on when little kids were still up, when I was 5 I got to stay up and watch it. And I remeber watching The First Time. So why can't NAN do this, I just don't get it.
Sorry if I went overboard on this but I had to get this off of my chest.

My thing on the cut scenes is that it is obvious when they run the ending credits and you see bits of scenes they didn't show. Come on folks, I'm not an idiot!!

If you think the cutting up of scenes is bad right now, expect more as Nick & other networks squeeze another 2 minutes of commercials in the years to come. Current shows are taped close to 20 minutes for this reason. At what point will a FOL episode become pointless to watch -- 19,18,17,16,or 15 min of content shown? I never was able to understand the madness to Nick's rough handling of classic TV (cutting of scenes, not airing all of the episodes, starting/ending of shows on time etc.) until I learned of the MTV factor. You see the old Nick never cared about ratings just "better living thru television". What ratings were generated from Dobie Gillis, Donna Reed or Patty Duke 10 years ago? Did they even care? Back then Nick was about catering to a niche of TV watchers, not worrying about ratings & prime time. May the MTV group reap what it sows.

Thank goodness we'll be able to get them on tape - uncut.

The only episodes that I've seen that haven't been shown on nick at nite are: Dope, Fear Strikes Back, and The First Time. I knwo that they won't show Dope, because the episode would be a total mess without the marijuna situation. Fear Strikes Back could be if they cut out the beginning where Mrs. G tells the girls that Mrs. Hunt was raped, because without that info, we wouldn't have known that Natalie was almost raped, and just not attacked. The First Time will never air, because the beginning and the end would both have to be cut off. I agree that N@N does cut their episodes a bit too much, but we still enjoy them!
