Mr. Schwump - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Does anyone know who played Mr. Schwump? He appeared in several episodes over the years both black and white and color. He never spoke, just nodded. He had a really bad comb over.
Barney once said, "I'm not going to the dance and stand in the stag line with old man schwump."

Also, as good as the show was, and it is the tops, why did the outdoor scenery, especially out side of the courthouse (inside looking out) change so much?

I have looked everywhere for the name of the person that played Mr. Schwump & have come up empty-handed. None of the TAGS websites have any info nor does IMDB. I hope someone can shed some light on this mystery eventually.

I posted the same topic on 1/24/04 and nobody seems to know the answer to the question. I don't recall seeing his name in any of the credits for the show. Like you, I'd sure like to know more about him.

This question comes up occasionally at Miss Crumps Blackboard too. So far no one has been able to find an answer to who played Mr. Schwamp, the correct spelling according to someone who has seen an actual script. I don't think we'll ever find out. The show was so long ago and many or all of the folks who knew the answer have died.
Someone at Miss Crump's did have a good idea, though; place an ad or get an article printed in an LA newspaper and hope for a response. As far as I know, nothing has ever been done.
