I don't get LMN either, but all those movies have aired on Lifetime. I've seen them all. I want to see some rare ones that are not seen on TV these days, like They All Laughed, The Comeback Kid, Leave Yesterday Behind, Letting Go, Love They Neighbor, Sunset Limousine, Pray TV, In Love With an Older Woman, The Dreamer of Oz, and My Brother's Wife (I think A&E has rights to this movie). Even Americathon and Hero at Large would be nice to see, they have been on the premium cable channels though.

I saw some trailers for the movie "Bad Santa," and John Ritter happens to be in some of them. According to IMDB, he plays the "Mall Manager."

Has anyone caught CMT's airing of A Smoky Mountain Christmas? It's the high rated 1986 ABC-TV movie directed by Henry Winkler, starring Dolly Parton and Lee Majors. John Ritter has an uncredited cameo towards the end as the very nice judge, John did the cameo as a favor to his buddy Henry Winkler. It's a nice scene, John with a country voice! He can do anything!

If you missed it (it aired Friday at 7pm and Saturday at 2pm), it'll air quite a lot:
Wed Dec 17 9:00pm EST
Thu Dec 18 11:00am EST
Sat Dec 20 8:00pm EST
Sun Dec 21 5:00pm EST
Mon Dec 22 8:00pm EST
Tue Dec 23 11:00am EST
Thu Dec 25 11:00am EST
Thu Dec 25 4:00pm EST

It's a great Christmas movie (Danny Cooksey from Diff'rent Strokes is even in it).

One John Ritter movie you should not see is the 1979 theatrical release Americathon, in which Ritter played the president of the United States. It was a vulgar comic depiction of what America would be like in 1998; gas runs out, cars are converted into houses, the United States is threatened by a joint Arab-Israeli takeover, and the government ends up having to hold a telethon to bail out the country.

Americathon is a pretty awful movie, but it did have some moments of inspiration, such as Elvis Costello performing "Crawlin' to the U.S.A.," his love-hate song about America, and a presdiential aide (played by Peter Riegert) explaining the benefit of a telethon: "Telethons always work; look what they did for diseases!"

And truth be told, Americathon did get some things right. It predicted that, in 1998, China would be a major power, we'd have a President engaged in an extramarital tryst, and entertainment values would set the tone for the nation's affairs - all of which, in 1998, turned out to be correct! Nevertheless, this film should be avoided, out of respect for Ritter's memory.

Harvey Korman also starred as the telethon emcee.
