Lois Gibson in new People issue
Forensic artist Lois Gibson is featured in the new issue of People magazine (November 24, 2003 issue). UM did a segment about her in 2001. She is the artist who draws composites of criminals and crime suspects, which has helped to identify them and lead to their captures. She has amazing success with that.
She was raped many years ago, and admittedly didn't report it right away, fearing that the police would believe that the rape was her fault in some way. Her rapist has, apparently, never been identified. But if you take what she went through into consideration, you can see that her job as a forensic artist shows that the trauma she went through has lead to something productive. Without her job as a forensic artist, many of the criminals she has drawn might still be at large. The article in People magazine doesn't make any mention of her having been featured on UM, but it's worth reading. By this new issue ASAP! Don't wait until it's sold out!
