Angry I stilldon't understand why?! PLEASE READ!

WHY!? doesn't Nancy want to be known as Jo or be reminded of it? Because she wasnts to move on?! But still... and, was it because she's embarrssed by too much priase what is it!!! I JUST DON"T UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHat's her problem?! I knwo she is in The Division but she can do 2 things, Lisa Vidal is! why can't she? and FOl reunion movie would make her more famous. She once said she was obsessed with her career, FOl reuinion movie would only HELP her career not ruin it! Is it because casting directors know her as Jo and they don't wasnt to knwo her as anybody else? Then they are the stupid ones, but Nancy... I STILL DON"T UNDERSTAND!! I am crying at this moment!

Well...Jo was somebody that shemight not want to be known as...I mean she has to concentrate on now...Even though im dissapointed...Playing somebody who was criticized of acting gay..(not by us but by others) Just doesnt seem appealing...Even though she should be able to work around all the steryotyrpes of Jo she just doesnt want it...From her intamate portrait we were informed she gave up alot of big jobs to get throgh steryotping...this is just one of em...

I dont know is that made sense but thats pretty much the conclusion i have come to...And please dont freak about a nEthing i said you dotn aggree with....I dont even know if i aggree with myself!

I really do understand Nancy McKeon's view on this reunion deal. I do not like living in the past. It's over with, move on, deal with the future. I took this philosophy with college and have reaped the rewards. On the other hand, some of my high school classmates couldn't let go of the past and drug themselves down in the process by not allowing themselves to grow in new surroundings. FOL was over with 13 years ago and if she doesn't want to do it, then fine. Watch the Divison which is a good show where she is trying something different. Someone name me a television show reunion movie that lived up to the original run because I really can't think of one. I would much rather watch my tapes then some corny two hour reunion movie that is too hyped up and leaves viewers disappointed that are expecting too much. I really feel that is happening. I think that covers it!

people want a FOL reunion because..
1. the obvious reason. It's good for nostalgic reasons to see the 4 girls, plus Mrs. Garrett together again as ADULT women.
2. the fact that it would bring better closure to the show. The show lasted 9 years and yet we got slapped in the face with the awful finale.
3. thanks to N@N, the show has picked up a new audience of many people who were just being born when FOL was coming to a close in 1988
4. would be nice to see if Jo, Blair, Natalie and Tootie had the same chemistry that they had in the "good ol' days"

While Nancy is definately trying to move on as an actress, you'd think she'd realize that a Facts Of Life reunion would boost her career as well as get even more FOL fans (besides the ones on this website) aware that she has a new program. While she has come a long way in the past 13 years, she's not exactly a "former tv star" with the same clout of Denzel Washington (St. Elsewhere), Bruce Willis (Moonlighting) or Michael Douglas (The Streets Of San Francisco) who has the name and power to turn down a reunion of their old series.

Nancy McKeon had a lot of movies in the 80s most remakes of Jo. She just needs a new character. People I'm upset that she doesn't want to do the reunion I see where she's coming from...but i'm not getting all upset about it.

One question...if she wants to get away from her Jo or tomboy image why is she playing Jinny? She's a tomboy.

Well Nancy should do the reunion for 2 reasons. First, her career is going well so her excuse about being typecasted is silly. If her fans want her to do a project, why not please them? The brightest stars past and present have learned to please their fans -- why else does Tom Hanks continue to host/attend oodles of award ceremonies when he could easily skip every one because he's stinking rich. Secondly, time is slipping away. Charlotte Rae is aging She or any of the other actresses could pass away unexpectantly. This is a golden opportunity for the reunion because all minus Nancy have agreed to it. I wish she would think a little deeper before refusing. She has nothing to lose as this is a one time special; not a lifetime commitment to the character of Jo.

I too understand Nancys view on this situation and agree with her. I do very much want her to do it but it is her choice and i think it was a good one. I was devistated when i heard she was probably not going to do the reunion.

Lets just be glad she is on tv doing a great and entertainig show like the division.

I understand how Nancy feels about not wanting to be known as Jo anymore I feel just
like she does.Im not an actor or anything like that YET.
People who have known me for about lets say from three years and long before,Think of me as a perfect litted angel not wanting to take
risks always needs a safty net cant cut loose
and be fun kinda shy stuff like that,Well Now
I want to cut loose take risks no more prefect angel.Like Natalie says."From now on its good by Natalie hello hot lip!"for me its."Good bye prefect angel hello risk taker!"So I know how Nancy feels when she says she does not want to be known as Jo anymore.

>>So I know how Nancy feels when she says she does not want to be known as Jo anymore.<<

well, you can do a reunion without being typecast for the show. Ron Howard did the Andy Griffith reunion in 1986, long after Happy Days and his directing career had pretty much gotten rid of his "Opie" image. Yet he was still proud of his past
