Default Chances of Will ever getting a boyfriend? Very slim

I know this is only a sitcom, but the fact that an intelligent, handsome and successful lawyer like Will is "boyfriendless" 99% of the time on this show is not only dissapointing, but very unrealistic.

I know, I know. With the show being centered on Will and Grace's friendship, there doesn't need to be a boyfriend all the time, but once in a while, it sure wouldn't hurt. Heck, Grace is even married now.

I read in the Advocate magazine a couple weeks ago a short message mentioned by Eric McCormack himself. He said that the writers and producers are going to try and get feedback from the episode where Will meets Dylan McDermot's character in the park - if a majority of the fans asked liked the episode enough, it's prossible that Will and Dylan's character (can't remember his name) could start a relationship, but I wouldn't hold my breath. McCormack says that's we'll have to wait and see what happens because some viewers are just not comfortable seeing two men show affection for each other in a close loving relationship.

As crazy as it sounds, there are somewhat closeminded viewers like that. They don't have a problem with gay people as long as they never date, which is absurd of course. McCormack has mentioned a couple times these past few years that Will needs to have a relationship every so often, he doesn't even mind if there would be kissing scenes, but some viewers apparently wouldn't like it.

I know this show is first and farmost about Will & Grace's friendship - which I love - but Will needs to get a relationship that lasts longer than an episode. And most likely, because of the number of viewers that would be uncomfortable seeing two men in a serious relationship on a hit sitcom - Will's love life will continue to be nothing, and the physical side at least - won't go any further than a handshake. It wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Surprising that this show is so worried about that considering how far into the series run it is. Most shows have more creative freedom by season 5/6.

It would be good if Grace divorces Leo just as Will finds a man, seeing Will trying to juggle a new relationship while being supportive to Grace, I think it would make for good story telling.

I like Dylan McDermott, if he did a Woody Harrelson and stayed awhile (not too long) I wouldn't object. And if there were a few kisses along the way I certainly wouldn't object.

I will also give kudos to Eric McCormack for having the guts to say that his character needs a man and not being worried about kissing other men, I think it shows a dedication to his character and the show, not merely his own career.

I think they should do something unique and have Will date a black guy. I'm not gay or anything, but it seems as if they portray the gay world on Will & Grace as this upitty white world, which from my knowlege in the real world isn't in the slightest.

Although I have complained Will never keeps a longterm boyfriend. I am actually glad that he just dates different guys and doesn't stick with one. It makes the show funnier, image if he did have a longterm boyfriend. I just don't think it would be as funny.

I don't want any of the four characters to have a serious relationship. Seinfeld managed to keep their wacky quad unattached, with the exception of George and Susan. That was played for laughs though.

I like the Will & Grace gang to have boyfriends or girlfriends or whatever come and go, but I just don't want a major relationship storyline weighing the show down.

Also, it is realistic for a handsome, successful man to be unattached. My brother is gay, gorgeous, smart, successful and alone. He tells me that a lot of gay men have committment issues. It kills me because he'd like to find someone and settle down. He's 34, and one of the nicest guys I know.

well, not to be rude, but as a gay person speaking from experience, there probably is a bigger "seperation" from gay white people and gay black people. The clubs are different. One of my very good friends is gay and black, but we have a lot of common interests. For the most part, white, black, Hispanic and Asian gays are very "seperative" and very community oriented. It might be a shame, but I think it's a bigger divide in the gay community than in the heterosexual community.

well, what annoyed me is that Grace has always been giving a "fair" love life on the show. They have no problems showing Grace and her bf's/husbands in bed. But yet Will just is seen walking around with a guy and it's "love"?

Come on, after how far shows like Queer As Folk and Six Feet Under has pushed boundaries, why would NBC object to Will in bed with a man BESIDES Jack? Nobody is asking for Will's boyfriend to rim him (like on QAF) or for him to be giving felatio in a parking lot (like on Six Feet Under).

One big reason Buffyslayer is you were talking about two shows on pay cable (Showtime and HBO) Those networks can afford to do something like that because you the viewer pay those networks bills. But NBC is different they have advertisers who could pull out of the show or episode if something like that happened on an episode. Maybe one day though.
