Default Ann-Margret

Hello, all you Wingnuts!! Long time, no post, I know. In short, I was released from my workman's comp. on Sept.15, went out on the road for 6 L-O-N-G weeks(I usually stay out about 3), then went on my vacation to my cousin's wedding in Conn. and just got home tonight.

ANYHOO, my sister & I drove up, and on the way home we spent a couple days in Manhattan. One morning we went to Rockefeller Center to the Today Show and stand outside. Even though it was crowded, my sister still managed to make it up to the barrier and I was standing behind her. After a while, my feet started getting cold from just standing so I left the crowd, and walked around nearby. I saw a black car pull up and some people get out. One of them was a woman and it was Ann-Margret!! I was like, OMG!! I went up to her and talked to her all of 15 seconds, but I talked to her. I said something like I love your work. I'm so bad at remembering stuff like that because I'm so excited at meeting a famous person!! She had her luggage and she went into the building. Little did I know but she was a guest on the Today show. Later she came outside again to the crowd, and she ran through the whole crowd, and shook people's hands, including my sister's.

I probably wouldn't be telling you this but ever since the "Sports & Leisure" episode first aired, I feel that Ann-Margret has a Wings connection. The woman has been in show business for years(heck, I remember watching her in Bye, Bye Birdie when I was a kid!!), but now, whenever I hear her name, I always think of that Wings episode. I just thought it was so cool being able to meet her.

Kind of off-topic, we also met Jimmy Smits in Manhattan right near our hotel. He's doing a show on Broadway, and he came out after the show and did autographs and took pictures. Really nice guy.

Well, I'll probably be going back to work tomorrow and won't be home until after Thanksgiving, so right now I want to wish everybody here a very Happy Thanksgiving.

I can't believe that some of the radio stations have already been playing non-stop Christmas music since Nov.1st. Please let us celebrate Thanksgiving before going into the mayhem that is Christmas.

Welcome back, phoebe!!

That's so cool that you met Ann Margaret. lol!
It's weird because I know she's been really famous for years, but the only thing I've ever seen her in was "Bye Bye Birdie". And I only saw that movie because when I was a senior in high school, that's the musical we did that year. Oh man, that was my favorite musical that I did in all of high school.. that was so much fun.. *sigh* I miss doiung the school plays...
lol sorry. Got a little nostalgic there. hehe.

oh, and what part of my wonderful, home-state of Connecticut were you in for your cousin's wedding? lol

anyway, welcome back to the board!

Glad to see you back, Phoebe I was wondering why you hadn't posted in awhile. I thought maybe you'd had an accident or something. Glad you're doing OK. That's cool that you met Ann-Margaret.

I agree about Christmas music. I love listening to it, but let's deal with Thanksgiving first, shall we?

and yeah! This year seems to be earlier than ever! I can't believe all of the Christmas commercials on TV already! Usually, they at least wait until the day aftert Thanksgiving, I think. lol!
The truck stop where I stopped to get gas for my car yesterday already had a Christmas Tree up!!

Hey, Krista! To answer your question, we stayed in Shelton and the wedding was in Seymour. My brother couldn't take too much time off, so he flew in and I picked him up at Bradley. We also drove up to Maine. I remember going there as a kid, but my sister & brother don't, so they wanted to go up there.

oh yeah, now that you say that, I think we were talking about that once- you mentioned you were going to your cousin's wedding in connecticut and that they lived in Shelton.
That's cool. one of my best friends lives in Shelton. That's about 45 minutes away from me though.

Oh, I love Maine! I've only been there twice- once inland, and once on the shore. It's a beautiful state.

I live on land, away from the waterfront property
'Expensive' is a word that figures in to that.
I live up in Franklin county and I take lots of trips to the Augusta Marketplace
