With the passing of Art Carney an old question resurfaced for me - I vaguely remember watching an old rerun of the Honeymooners about 15 years ago and in it Art Carney spells his name for some reason. Maybe for a form or something.
But I dimly recall him spelling his name as N-A-U-G-H-T-O-N which, with a New Yawk accent sounds distinctly like NORTON. Does anyone remember this? Or did I completely imagine it? I could find no web pages or anything about it. |

He spelled his last name out loudly to what he thought was a ghost in "Curse Of The Kramdens", one of the color "Europe" episodes from the 60's, but he spelled it N-O-R-T-O-N
