Cool What seasons would you buy on DVD?

I'd buy seasons 1 through 6. I wouldn't waste my money on 7 and 8.

I'd buy them all. Im anal and if I was going to buy some, I'd go nuts if I didn't have the whole entire series on DVD, even though the last two seasons aren't my favorite and I aready have them on tape. lol

I'm the exact same way. I bought the first season of Mary Tyler Moore, and now found out they're not releasing the rest of the series. Even though it's not one of my favorites, it bugs me to death that I can't get the rest of the seasons on DVD. However, in the case of Wings I'd buy them all not only to complete the set, but because I enjoyed all the seasons. Season 7 had Lowell's last episode and Season 8 had the final episode, so for those episodes alone, I'd buy all the seasons.

Default Depends on the Quality and Cost

Since I've got almost all of the episodes on DVD already - there would have to be significant improvement in quality over my own recordings (mine are good, but definitely not commercial quality) and they'd have to be going for no more than $30 per season - like Friends.

oh yeah, TVAdam- that's another reason why I'd buy the entire series, because there are some really good episodses in seasons 7 and 8, even though they're not the best seasons, overall, in my opinion..

Default all season

Hey everyone,

I'm kinda new to this site, but I have been reading it for about a week. I would buy all of the seasons easy. I can't understand how you guys are saying that Seasons 7 and 8 are bad. Yes the storylines aren't as good as the first 6, but that is when they started to go nuts, just doing random stuff that I thought was hilarious. It was like they had already made it as a respectable sitcom, so why not do some crazy stuff. Anyway, while I do agree that the first 6 seasons are where it's at, you can't deny that the final two were just as funny. See ya later.

Welcome aboard schneidy, and I TOTALLY agree with you. There were several episodes in both the 7th and 8th season that I enjoyed alot and IF my dream ever came true that Wings was on DVD I would definitely own every season.

Because there are so many episodes to begin with, I'd buy a "Best of" set or if they do character sets, I'd buy a "Lowell" set.

yeah, It's not like I dislike seasons 7 and 8. There were a lot of really funny episodes. It was just different in that with the first 6 seasons *almost* very episode was great, in my opinion. In seasons 7 ad 8, not all of them were spectacular. But there were still a lot of good ones.

I've had that same impression with the last couple of seasons of "Wings"....It's as if they developed an "Oh, what the hell....Let's DO it!" attitude.

Later episodes like the one where Brian and Helen go to NYC to see a musical and Helen ends up entering a drag queen contest would NEVER have been done during Seasons 1-6.....but again, the last couple of seasons seem to have this "Hey, we're winding this thing down anyway....Let's get a little crazy and have some fun with it before we go!" attitude.

Default right on pilotguy

That's exactly what seasons 7 and 8 were. Some of my favorites were the Halloween one where they all dressed up. Antonio was hilarious. I also like the Martini one, where Joe and Helen get drunk and name martinis. I think they just did more for the humor side rather than following a character plot or story plot.

lol I love that!!! HAHAHA! It's not one of my favorite episodes, but the parts where Joe and Helen are drunk off Martinis are hilarious! I laugh so hard every time...

Joe: "That's why you should have listened to me, Brian, and bought a hat."
Brian: "A hat?!"
Joe: "A hat... a hat, a hat. You know, with a deck off the master, and a little tool shed for Stacey."
Helen: "Look, Joe, I have a hat!" [puts martini glass on her head]
Joe: "That's pretty...."

and then there was Helen's drunken speech about riding on an elephant:
"You know how I like to travel?!! On an elephant! You know, in one of those big-ass saddles that all the elephants wear. And as I go by, all of the villaigers come out and say 'Ooohh, there goes Princess Helen on her elepheellellnn...'."
