Here's some pics I took of the Val Verde/Simi fire which was the closest one to me...
These two pics are taken from the roof of the company where I work. The top pic is the only one of mine which shows actual flames (visible in the center of the photo). |

Nice photo's of something so horrible.
It would be very hard to be so close to such devastation. |

I lived a few miles from the Scripps Ranch fire. I had never been around so much smoke in my life and I don't know if I ever will. These were huge fires. One of them was the size of Rhode Island!

Yeah, if the winds did not stop, I would have been more concerned because fire in that area have in the past burned all the way to the ocean- via the Simi Hills and the cities of Thousand Oaks, Agoura Hills and Malibu. |

20 people perished, over nine million dollars California spent to put out the fire a day, which will likely be up to at least $10 billion dollars spent, over 750,000 acres and land destroyed and damaged, over 1500 firefighters putting 24/7 to put out the flaims from around the nation, over more than 3,500 homes destroyed, and about over millions and millions of people homeless because of the fires. |
