Default California Fire Photos

Here's some pics I took of the Val Verde/Simi fire which was the closest one to me...

These two pics are taken from the roof of the company where I work. The top pic is the only one of mine which shows actual flames (visible in the center of the photo).

Nice photo's of something so horrible.

It would be very hard to be so close to such devastation.

On my left, I saw days upon days of lipstick and ticking clocks, dirty looks and quiet whisperings. And burning secrets that just won't ever die away. And on my right, what could I picture? The blue sky, the desert earth, stretching out into the eerie infinity. A beautiful never-ending nothing.

I lived a few miles from the Scripps Ranch fire. I had never been around so much smoke in my life and I don't know if I ever will. These were huge fires. One of them was the size of Rhode Island!

On a clear day (and with no fires) the area is very scenic.

Yeah, if the winds did not stop, I would have been more concerned because fire in that area have in the past burned all the way to the ocean- via the Simi Hills and the cities of Thousand Oaks, Agoura Hills and Malibu.

I heard that, too. It was either the Scripps Ranch fire or one of the fires in the San Bernardino Mountains. That is a lot of acres.

Estimate Damage from the California fires:

20 people perished, over nine million dollars California spent to put out the fire a day, which will likely be up to at least $10 billion dollars spent, over 750,000 acres and land destroyed and damaged, over 1500 firefighters putting 24/7 to put out the flaims from around the nation, over more than 3,500 homes destroyed, and about over millions and millions of people homeless because of the fires.
