What is it that changes your homepage? Every once in awhile, I get on the internet to find that my homepage isn't the same. It just changes. Does anyone know why?

I'm not sure what causes that....but I HATE it!

That is one of the minor things that just bugs the crap outta me.

Most of the time it is from pop ups. THey ask questions that most people don't look at they just click okay. What it is really doing is giving it permission to change your home page.

Sounds like spyware.

Mine's done that in the past before - go to download.com, do a search for SpyBot, download it & install it. Once you get it installed, it should be in your Start menu...I recommend starting it in Easy Mode (you'll see Easy or Advanced Mode for Spybot in the Start menu). Once you get that started up, click on "Search for updates". It is recommended you do an update first so Spybot's definitions are updated. Once Spybot finds those updates, click on "Download updates" and when you're done, click on the "Search & Destroy" button, then click on the "Check for problems" button and let it run in the background while you surf. IT'll take anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes for Spybot to find all the spyware on your computer since it has to search your files thoroughly. After THAT'S done, go through the list and make sure all the spyware files have a check next to them, and you can figure out the rest.

Most of the time, you don't need to reboot - Spybot will fix them without a reboot. But, sometimes it finds spyware that is still running, so it will tell you it wasn't able to fix all problems and asks you if you want Spybot to run on startup the next time you restart your computer.

That's not always the case. Sometimes a popup doesn't even come up and then when you start up IE the next time, your homepage's changed. That's happened to me before too.
