Default ewwww some people's kids!

ugh ew yuck.

I live in public housing (which of course I hate HATE it. Hate the stigma, hate the nosey neighbors, I just hate it). and every fall/spring they do an inspection to see how your apartment is. No garbage, no electrical hazards, etc. Well EVERY inspection I get a letter telling me my apartment is cluttered, that my daughter has 'too many toys', that I have too many tapes etc. Then they bring themselves BACK to my apartment to reinspect after giving me about 12 hours to clean to "their" standards. I spend the day before hauling things to storage and putting it in my car until they are satisfied and then I bring it back to my house. My house isn't dirty, I dont have bugs, my cat is cleaned after....I HATE that they tell me how to keep my house.

ANYHOW I'm making my daughter clean her room because it desperately needs it. I went in there and I just started throwing stuff away....old toys she doesn't play with, marker sets that are broken, dried out etc. I took them to the dumpster and pitched them.

So I go outside to throw another bag of garbage away and what do I see? KIDS going through my garbage!!!!! They climbed into the dumpster and pulled my stuff back out to go through it! I feel so violated! I threw that stuff away for a reason! I'd be mortified if my kid went climbing through a GARBAGE DUMPSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I yelled at them to leave my garbage alone! I had thrown away some of my kids old underwear that she doesnt' wear and they wer LAYING IN THE PARKING LOT.

Why don't people watch their kids? What is wrong with them?!

The blue sky, the desert earth, stretching out into the eerie infinity. A beautiful never-ending nothing.

Why do they care how many tapes and stuff you have?

Yesterday these homeless guys were sitting in front of my house going through our trash cans. It was odd cause as I was backing out of the driveway they were just waving

Or maybe they're so poor that their parents can't afford to buy them toys. They have to worry about feeding them and paying the bills first.

I don't see what's so wrong with it. If I was poor and had nothing, I might go though some garbage to see if there was anything worth taking out. It's not like you were throwing out old diapers or something that smelled really badly.

That's what I'm wondering too.

I don't understand why people have to be like that.

I dont live in low income public housing because I'm rich.

The things I'm throwing away are GARBAGE. Im not throwing away diamond rings and things like that. And aside from that there is actual REAL GARBAGE in those bins too.

They say it's clutter. The letter they sent me said I had to clean the "apartment clutter" out.

I never said you were rich. I KNOW you aren't throwing away diamond rings, so stop putting words in my mouth. What I'm saying is that if it's garbage, it means you don't want it anymore. It's out of your hands. Some other kids MIGHT want those old toys because they might not have any of their own. That's why I said I don't think it's wrong. You don't have to get fueled up...you told us what was up and I gave you my opinion.

I don't know why you care. I take things that I like off curbs. I even found a hot pink barbe car that worked

Like the saying goes, one person's trash is another person's treasure. I don't see anything wrong with a kid wanting an old used toy, maybe they don't have any toys and want something to play with like all kids do. But perhaps it would be a bit more polite to ask if they can take the toys before they do... and I don't think having tapes around is "clutter" maybe you should just get a small bin to put them in or something.

Reading this makes me so sad. I agree with the posters who said maybe they're looking for treasure. If I were you Nanny I would put some of your cat doo doo balls in the same trash bags and maybe they'll keep their hands away from your garbage.

They also may be looking for bottles for the 5 cents maybe?

And I also wanted to add that things we don't want or need anymore that are any good I take to Goodwill. So if it was worth saving it wouldn't be in the dumpster, it would be in the Goodwill bin in front of Walmart.
