Why did Richie leave? Oh and did any of the other main charatchters leave the show

Yes, Ralph Malph also left. Well, in the show Richie moved out. But I do not know why Ron Howard left.

His contract was up and he wanted to move on to other things, like directing.

Tiff - I only have the first 108 minus 10 so I have 98 episodes available.

The character Richie was in the army and so was Ralph. Ron Howard wanted to do some adult material. He was already 24 years old when Happy Days first aired. I suppose he got tired of portraying a teenager.

I think Ron Howard wanted to do some directing and ABC wouldn't let him so he left.
