Post Nick-At-Nite and the Last Season of Diff'rent Strokes

I heard that NAN will not air the last season of DS. Is this true? If so, why?
Any help would be appreciated!

Jack: I'm surprised at you. Where would all the great women of history be if they thought like that!? Look at Joan of Ark and what she accomplished. And, and Florence Nightengale and Madam Curry.
Chrissy: And Lucretia Borzok.
Janet: She posioned people.
Chrissy: Yeah, but she was very good at it.

It won't, because of 2 reasons:

1: The seasons, except the last season aired on NBC, while the last aired on ABC.

2: They didn't want to confuse people, with another person playing Maggie.

That doesn't make sense! They aired My Three Sons which switched networks, and the Lionels switched on the Jeffersons. I guesss we can't be sure until they get to that point.

Who said they are skipping season 8? Just because it didn't air in the marathon it doesn't mean they will not air the last season in the regular cycle.

They didn't show Season 7 of Three's Company in the Marathon, but of course they did in the regular rotation.

That's what I thought, but callmetootie once posted that it wasn't going to show. That's why I posted this, because I was scepticle, and I still agree with you, PB.

A network switch generally isn't the reason why episodes of a show won't be rerun. NBC essentially leased two or more airings of DS when the show originally aired, and ABC leased the show during the final season. But once their agreements expired, those networks had nothing more to do with rights for the show. Every episode, including the ABC ones, is owned by Columbia-TriStar, and they can lease the entire package, or pieces of it, to Nick-at-Nite.

That said, Nick-at-Nite is famous for not buying every episode, so it will be interesting to see if they've excluded the ABC ones.

Although the first 7 seasons are great, I gotta believe that season 8 is the one most wanted to see.
