- "It's A Connor Christmas"
Tuesday, December 9 from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. It's a holiday tradition... A seasonal TV staple... It's A Connor Christmas episodes. Nick@Nite proudly presents an event full of these special episodes that prove no matter how bad the things get, the most important thing about the holidays is spending time with your TV family. 10:00PM #84 "Santa Claus" 10:30PM #109 "It's No Place Like Home for The Holidays" 11:00PM #134 "White Trash Christmas" 11:30PM #159 The Parenting Trap 12:00AM #184 "December Bride" 12:30AM #210 "Home for the Holidays" Otherwise, no timeslot changes in December(but it will be pre-empted a few nights for other specials) Also on Thursday December 18th a Nick@Nite Gift-giving stunt will air: 10:00PM Roseanne: #117 "It Was Twenty Years Ago Today" That is the only slot containing Roseanne. The stunt airs from 9pm to 12am and includes Full House, Cosby Show, Cheers, Coach, and Three's Company. |

I think my favorite episode is the one from 1992 where Roseanne, Bev, Jackie, and Nana Mary get stuck at the diner during a snowstorm, Dan, Nancy, and her girlfriend are at the house and Darlene visits David, but ends up getting trapped at his house in Chicago where she finds out the truth about his home life. I think that is my favorite. I also like the one from 1991 and from 1993. The 1995 and 1996 ones weren't all that great.

I like them all but I especially like the last one where they burn their morgage papers. Very good episode. :-)

Santa Claus(1991) Roseanne talks Leon into letting her play Santa Claus at the mall -- and hears something she wishes she hadn't from one of the kids' mothers, who turns out to be Darlene's new friend and confidante. It's No Place Like Home for the Holidays(1992) A Christmas Eve snowstorm scatters the Connors, with Roseanne and Jackie trapped at the Lunch Box with Bev and Nana Mary, while Darlene takes shelter at David's and learns the truth about his home life. White Trash Christmas(1993) Roseanne and Dan snub the neighborhood association by putting up gaudy Xmas decorations, and become furious with Becky when she gives the check they have given her for college to Mark and takes a job as a waitress in a tacky bar. December Bride(1995) Christmas for the Conners bring more than the usual holiday cheer and festivities, it also brings a wedding -- for Leon and Scott. Home for the Holidays(1996) After a long stay in California with his mother, Dan returns home for Christmas and he, Roseanne and the rest of the family begin to realize how fortunate they are to have each other and how much they have to be thankful for as the old year ends. |

I'm trying to decide if I'm going to tape this. I've been watching Roseanne since it came on Nick. I finally got my husband into it about a month or so ago--Roseanne was working at the salon.
From these boards and other research I've done on the show, I pretty much know what the future holds...the marriages, the births, I saw Dan's heart attack episode, and of course, the infamous final season and last episode. My husband, on the other hand, doesn't like to know what's in store, so I don't tell him what I know. He prefers to watch any show unfold as if it's the first time, because for him, it is the first time. Do any of these Christmas shows give away too much....from what is currently airing? Thanks.

The 1995 one is just the gay marriage of Leon and Scott and the 1996 one is where Dan returns from California after caring for his sick mother, the very next episode after this one reveals he was having an affair in California. |

Thanks Brent. I'm glad it doesn't show Dan's affair or any other major developments.
I'll tape it, and we'll watch it tomorrow night or even this weekend.

Why don't you watch the episodes before your husband does? Then you can form your own opinion about it.
I can tell you for a fact that the first 3 episodes don't give anything away because N@N is already past those episodes... |

That's a good idea. It's important to me that he's surprised about Dan's heart attack and the affair. I saw the heart attack episode in the Marathon a while back.
I'm looking forward to the affair era (I'm sure it's more than one episode), although I'm sure it's heartbreaking to see Roseanne in so much emotional pain. For example, the hubby thinks that Darlene and David are over for good. I don't want to ruin that 'soap opera--what's going to happen next?' thing for him. I'm sure there are things that I don't know. I know the biggies that are posted here. Jackie's future is unknown to me as is the fate of The Lunch Box. Lots of stuff I don't know. |
