Thumbs up The Bradys,luxurious house

This is such a colourful show. One thing I always admired was the house.Such a large beautiful home.So much space.I would love to have a house like that. There,s one thing I sometimes wonder about.Did their house have a basement?Doesn,t look like it.I know that both the laundry room and Alice,s bedroom were located on the main floor. The attic was quite spacious too.All in all,it was a very interesting studio set.I really liked it.

Most houses that have an upstairs also have a basement, but I'll assume that the Brady house did not or they would have showed it.

The house was used in at least one episode of Happy Days. They were episodes in the early seasons (before being filmed live) that took place at house parties.

I remember one HD party episode with basement, but I'm not sure if it was with the Brady house.

I once saw the Brady house on an episode of "Mannix".

I saw the Cunningham house in the movie"Mommie Dearest".It was used as a set piece for Christina,s TV soap opera.

I could very easily be wrong about this, but was there an episode in which a "cellar" was mentioned? I'm thinking it was the episode in which Pete breaks Carol's favorite vase...

Wasn't Greg and Bobby's "punishment" having to take the screens down, clean them, and store them in "the cellar"...?

I know there was no basement ever shown on the show, but did this happen, or did I imagine it? That episode was on recently, so it may be a while before it airs again, unless someone out there has it on tape and could answer this question...

Maybe Pete just told Greg & Bobby to store the screens in the attic...or maybe the garage...

Other than that, I don't remember a cellar ever being mentioned...and I may not have actually heard this one, either...

I always thought there was a downstairs in that episode where everyone wanted to give Tiger a bath because they thought Jan was allergic, when Alice was dragging him into the big pail to wash him. Was that room not located downstairs?

That room was located on the first floor behind the kitchen (presumably next to Alice's room). They often referred to it as the "service porch".

The service porch was where the laundry room was located. It refers to the area where "dirty" service men (plumbers, painters, etc) can enter the house without getting the clean part of the house dirty, or scaring women and children.

The service porch was also where Cindy's pet rabbits Romeo and Juliet lived.

I liked the Brady house too. But in this day and age I would need a bigger Brady kitchen.

Not sure if a cellar was mentioned during the episode where Myron the mouse was loose around the house in the scene where an exterminator was called.

You're right about this. "Confessions, Confessions", where Pete broke Carol's vase and had to punish the other kids for confessing, has him mention storing the screens in "the cellar". Since there were no stairs under the stairs going up to the bedrooms, which is where most houses would have cellar stairs, I would assume that the cellar was some kind of crawl space or low-ceilinged space under the house that could perhaps be reached only from the outside, from a part of the back yard that was never shown. This ep had the only mention ever of a cellar in the Brady house, and it seems unusual, since I'm not aware of many houses in warm climates that have cellars.
