ABC will air the episode again this Saturday at 10 p.m. ET, in place of L.A. Dragnet:

"Goodbye" - After learning of the unexpected death of Paul, Cate and the kids must each deal with the loss of the beloved patriarch of the Hennessy family in their own way. To help console the family, Cate's parents (James Garner and Suzanne Pleshette) - who are separated -- put aside their marital differences and help the family through their time of need. John Ratzenberger ("Cheers," "Finding Nemo") returns as the Hennessy's pesty neighbor, Fred Doyle, Patrick Warburton ("Less Than Perfect," Puddy on "Seinfeld") reprises his role as Paul's newspaper boss, and Larry Miller ("The Nutty Professor," "Nutty Professor II: The Klumps," "Pretty Woman") appears as Paul's co-worker and Kyle's father, Tommy, on a special one-hour episode of "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter," SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 8 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter" stars Katey Sagal as Cate Hennessy, Kaley Cuoco as Bridget Hennessy, Amy Davidson as Kerry Hennessy and Martin Spanjers as Rory Hennessy.

Guest starring are James Garner as Jim, Suzanne Pleshette as Laura, Larry Miller as Tommy, John Ratzenberger as Fred Doyle, Billy Aaron Brown as Kyle, Patrick Warburton as Nick Sharpe and Nikki Danielle Moore as Jenna Sharpe.

"Goodbye" was written by David Flebotte & Martin Weiss, and Bonnie Kallman & Tracy Gamble. James Widdoes directed.

"8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound.

This program carries a TV-PG parental guideline.

Good! I tried taping it on Tuesday night, but like a dolt, I accidentally set my VCR to record from 8:58-9:02 (I usually allow a few extra minutes before and after a show, just in case).

I hate working night shift!
