How does Sitcoms Online determine which are "seventies" shows and "eighties" shows? The reason I ask is because "Different Strokes" is listed as an eighties sitcom, when it premiered in 1978.
Is there a criteria for this? |

The criteria is what I think most people would classify that sitcom in. Although Diff'rent Strokes started in 1978 it ran through 1986 so most of it was in the 80's and I think that's what most people remember it as an 80's sitcom. There are alternative examples - I think most people consider Three's Company and The Love Boat as 70's sitcoms as that seems when they were at their most popular stage.
