it was very well done. i was very emotional watching it. it started off with the usual 8 simple rules formula of crazy laughter and bickering between the kids and took a more serious tone when they learned of john's death. i'd like to say ritter will go down as one of the all time legends and will be deeply missed. anybody have news on whats happening on upcoming episodes or where the show is headed.

Last night's episode of 8 Simple Rules hit way close to home. My dad was killed in a car accident when I was 15 (just about 6 years ago). It was like watching myself and my family onscreen. The way the kids reacted, the way Cate reacted, everything about it was what I was going through in 1997. It was done beautifully, without any exaggeration. It really helped me to face some issues I needed to face, like getting my emotions out. All three kids showed reactions exactly the way I did. I had said a lot of the same lines they said and still do today. I just hope that the show continues to show the love that Cate and the kids have for Paul. Their relationships were so much like mine was with my dad. It's comforting. My condolences go out to anyone who felt what I did last night. It wasn't easy to watch, and plenty of tissues were used, but it did make me smile somewhat. The ending would be something that my dad would have written. That is how he felt about us. Like I said before, it was all portrayed beautifully. I can't wait to see how the future episodes unfold.
