Default So I'm not alone!!!

Holy crap this is awesome, a message board for Wings. From my experiences my family is the only group of people I know that have even heard of Wings. Nice to know there are more out there.

Now for a question. What happened toward the end of the show's run? I used to watch wings four times a day when it was on USA, back when I was in 7th grade. The last new episode I remember is the one with Jenny McCarthy, or maybe the one where Lowell leaves. Anyway, I guess I just want to know what the finale was like, or any other interesting pieces of information about the last shows. Thanks.

hi!! Welcome to the board!!

hmm... that episode with Jenny McCarthy was pretty close to the end of the series I think. I'll go check the episode guide...
oh, that was actually near the beginning of the 8th season... the episode guide is the 3rd thread from the top on this board, by the way, if you want to look at it.
Nothing really significant happened in the last season, that I remember... and I've never seen the last episode because Nick@Nite skipped over it the last time round! They better show it this time!
Well anyway, Welcome to the board!

Don't worry, I know ALOT of closet "Wings" fans.
They just don't want to admit that it IS a cool show.
If they say that they hate it (in a false way)... you know they like it secretly.

I know a lot of people who like Wings, maybe not as much as we do here, but they thought it was a funny sitcom. I've never really known anyone in the real world (besides TV critics and NBC, of course) who hated the show.

Welcome to the boards

I don't think anyone I know is a closet fan, they have just never heard of it, which blows my mind. It was a pretty popular show wasn't it? I didn't really pay attention to Neilsen ratings back in the day but it must have done all right for all the years it was on. It's really a shame too cause there are so many good jokes that I can't use cause no one knows what the heck I'm talking about. Oh well.

The broadcast history of "Wings" is SO strange....While it ran for 8 seasons, the general viewing public never really considered it to be "Stay-home-to-watch-it" or "Must-See" TV.....

I tend to think that many people thought of "Wings" the same way that you may think of a casual friend....That person isn't your BEST friend, and he or she may not be someone that you would really go out of your way to get together with....but when you DO get together with that person, you just KNOW that you'll have a pleasant time with some laughs. I think that many people thought of "Wings" as that "casual friend" who was fun to be with.

I know a lot of people who watched Wings.
I know that my parents and my Grandma used to watch it when it was on NBC. My friend Matt used to watch it when it was on USA, my brother watched it sometimes when it was on USA, and one of my friends from school used to watch it- we were talking about TV shows and stuff last week, and I said that I watch reruns of Wings, and he was like, "Oh! I liked that show!".
So I know a lot of people who used to watch it, but none of them watch it now... lol.

The only way that you can watch "Wings" NOW is if you videotape it and watch it later at a more reasonable hour....

Or if you're a clerk in an all-night convenience store that has Cable TV!

Welp, it's kinda like "The Simpsons". Although you dislike later seasons, you just keep
watchin' until something good happens.
I don't have a tally of how many diehard "Wings" fans there are in the universe...
but it may be similar to that of "The Simpsons" (But why aren't there Wings sites with
grab-pics or fan art yet?!? How about a fan fiction where Sideshow Bob seduces Helen to get
to Bart?!?).
