"December Bride" was one of the biggest hits of the 50's. It followed "I Love Lucy" on Monday nights and was in the top five. However, very few people remember it today.

I remember it, and I have no idea why. I was a very small child and the original show came on well after I was packed off to bed. I must be recalling the re-runs.
I have no idea why it's never been syndicated since Pete and Gladys bit the dust. I can remember re-runs of P & G in this part of the country as recently as 1980. DB had good ratings and ran 5 years. Most shows that do that well make it to syndication. My memory is limited, but though I don't recall DB ever being a show I made it a point not to miss, my sketchy memory tells me it wasn't bad. |

It was great. I remember it used to air in the mornings right after Lucy when it went to syndication. Back in 1984, a cable channel in Sacramento, CA did a weekend retrospective on classic shows. DB was included. The guest star was Lyle Talbot, a prospective partner for Lily. It really brought back some memories. And Harry Morgan as Pete was honing the witty persona he would later incorporate as Bill Gannon on Dragnet and as Col. Potter on M*A*S*H.

You're right! December Bride(DB) did air right after "Lucy" on Monday Nights. Also, it was a favorite of my family and me. DB was syndicated for a long while and then it was dropped and we never understood why! I'm glad that we have copies of this fine show and can still enjoy it the way we do with "Lucy." Harry Morgan did some of his best work on DB. Some of my collegues have forgotten DB and some still remember it and would like to see it again. It should be mentioned that DB was a Desilu show.
