Ep1: Without Paul:
Cate is contacted at work to find out that Paul was in a terrbile car accident and she panicks and pulls the kids out of school. Cate freaks and calls her parents and sister to help her kids and Paul's death.

Ep2: The Passing:
Paul's funeral awaits. Cate, the kids, Kyle, her sister Maggie, and her parents try to contact Paul's parents and relatives. Meanwhile Paul's parents and Cate's parents at the funeral home get into a huge argument over who will help Cate and the kids financially. Cate's emotions run wild and Cate takes off to go back to the house, as Cate finds Kerry and Kyle on the couch making out.

Paul's parents decide to leave the Hennessy home and check into a hotel. Rory searches for a job to help support the family's financial problems

After Paul's parents leave, Cate sends the kids back to school. Bridget returns home and starts sobbing, because for homework she has to make a family tree. Maggie and her parents quietly plot out how they can help independent Cate without her knowing, before they leave.

Ep6: Cate's So-Called Secret Second Job:

But as soon as Cate is spotted at the ice-cream parlor at the mall by Bridget and her boyfriend, Damien, word gets out to the rest of the family.

Ep7: Big Red, Big Hair, Big Bucks:
Kerry gets an offer to become Ms. Big Red for the school play. As where Cate decides to fix-up a new hairdo temporary (like Peg Bundy's hair). Plus, Cate's father decides to cash in his fishing trip money to help his daughter raise three kids on her own. During a heart-to-heart between Cate and her mom, Cate learns her parents will stay and help her with the kids for a while..

Ep8: Selling and Buying:
Cate decides she wants to sell the house, but Rory and Bridget refuse to leave the house. Kyle and Kerry go to a fancy restaurant, but get ripped off incredibly and then decide to go to a burger joint down the street instead.

Ep9: Life of Happiness:
Jim and Laura head back home, leaving Cate with less tension. Cate decides she still is gonna keep the house. Rory meets this new girl, Sydney (a Hope and Faith Crossover).

Ep10: Meeting of Parents:
Cate and Rory are invited to meet with Rory's new girlfriend, Sydney, and her parents, Charley and Hope Shanowski. As Bridget, Kerry, and Kyle have a party at their house, which gets out of control, leaving this other girl, Emma, dissing the death of Bridget's dad, making Bridget furious and Bridget and Emma wrestling on the floor (cat-fight).

Ep11: Smiles, Chocolate, and Credit Cards:
Cate takes her daughters to the mall to buy Christmas presents for Rory, Kyle, Damien, and other relatives. Meanwhile Rory is spending lot of time at Sydney's house, leaving Cate worried that Sydney and Rory are "doing it".

Ep12: Slamming of Doors:
After Damien tells Bridget he needs space, Bridget gets extremely depressed and doesn't leave her room. Cate, Kerry, Kyle, Rory, and Sydney try to convince Bridget "it's gonna be okay".

Ep13: The Apology:
After a talk between Kyle and Damien, Damien calls and apologizes to Bridget, and within hours of talking, Bridget and Damien head out on their first date back together. Rory buys jewelry for Sydney.

Ep14: Cate's One Night Stand: Part One
Cate vaguely remembers having an one night stand with a guy in college, but all of a sudden, she remembers who it was. Cate keeps a low-profile around Rory and Sydney. Kerry and Kyle double date with Damien and Bridget.

Ep15: Cate's One Night Stand: Part Two
Cate's mystery guy from her one night stand, she thinks is Sydney's dad, Charley Shanowski. Cate feels odd around Sydney. Charley confesses and tells Cate it wasn't Charley Shanowski, it was Bobby Blanchette (charley's best friend).

Ep16: Double Date:
While Bridget, Damien, Kerry, and Kyle go on weekend retreat to Camp Fradee, Charley and Hope set up a double date with themselves and Cate and Bobby. Sparks between Cate and Bobby fly high. After coming home fromt he date, to a so-called "empty house". Cate and Bobby decide to go upstairs to Cate's room, when Cate and Bobby see Rory and Sydney in Cate's bed together. Cate notifies Hope and Charley.

Did Rory and Sydney actually sleep together? Will Cate and Hope and Charley be okay with it or be furious?
