Post When Dana was having a baby

They should not have fired Dana there was no Ds without her.

They could have made a ep that Kimberly was attack and got pregnaut. And than put the baby for adoption.

She was one of the stars of the show they shouldn't have fired her.

Yes Zankara, I agree with you all the way. If I was the director of the show I wouldn't have fired her. To me she was 1/4 the heart and soul of the show. They started DS with her, they should end it with her. DS to me sucked without her and I can't stand maggie and sam too!
But first of all she should not have gotten pregnant. Especally in her age back then, but hey, you have to understand that she did not have a real father and mother to look out for her. Which is too bad.

I agree with you. Sam...he was just so annoying. Maggie was okay with Dixie Carter (I haven't seen the Maryanne Mobley episodes yet, but heard that those episodes sucked) I'll say it again Sam was annoying.

They could've worked the whole Dana and baby thing out. I bet the storyline would've been great.

Perhaps Plato's firing was so striking that it served as a definitive part in her post Diff'rent Strokes downward sprial so to speak. I mean, suddenly being pregnant at such a fairly young age while getting fired over it must of turn a somedody into "damaged goods" in the industry for that particular time. But in spite of that, she still managed to pull in some memberable performances during that period such as "Robbery of a Video Store" and "Drug Related Overdose & Suicide." Not to mention her huge mark being made in the direct to video market.

I agree about Maggie being annoying, I never really liked her, I thought Sam was cute in the beginning, but then his accent got annoying, it sounded to fake to me. I think they should of said that Kimberly went to College while she was pregnate, then after the baby was born she came home from college, and then Dana would still be on the show, she just would of taken a vacation or something. Does that make sense? Sorry if I confused anyone

I loved Maggie's accent. Sam was cute. That was an adorable kid. At least they let Dana appear in a few episodes during the 84-85 season and she was seen more during the 85-86 season. I HOPE NAN shows the bulimic episode when she overeats and then purges. This was a good episode. If you noticed, NAN did skip "First Day Blues" w/Tootie.
