Default I wonder why Norman Lear wasn't a big fan of ........

TV Crossovers. None of his shows never had a crossover.

All in the Family-0 crossovers
Jeffersons-0 Crossovers
Maude-0 crossovers
One Day at A Time-0 crossovers
Sanford and Son-0 crossovers
Good Times-0 crossovers

I know that's kind of weird. Never crossed over any of his parent show and spinoffs

If he did crossovers, it would ruin your whole "Good Times was not a spinoff" argument, so in a way, it's beneficial towards you.

What I was always puzzled about was that Maude was somewhere in upstate New York, but when Good Times came along the Evanses were in Chicago and Floridas husband Henry became James! So this is perhaps why Good Times technically isn't a direct spin-off of Maude!?

Lookie here. A brand new member signs up and posts that Good Times isn't a spin-off, citing very familiar sounding reasons.

It's a fractured spinoff, let's leave it at that.

There was a crossover. The first time I remember seeing Archie Bunker and Edith was when I was watching an episode of Maude. I had never watched either show, but I do remember this VERY clearly.

That wasn't Maude. That was her pilot but it was broadcast on All In The Family.

The Jefferson made appearances on All In The Family after The Jeffersons began.

Does that count??

from tvtome.com....

208. The Family Next Door
gs: Janet MacLachlan (Polly Lewis) Isabel Sanford (Louise Jefferson) Richard Ward (--) David Byrd (--)

Louise Jefferson returns for a visit at the Bunker's place to ask Edith if she can sell her (Louise's) former house. Edith doubts but Archie makes her agree so that they (mostly he) can choose white people to move in. When Edith sells the house to a couple and she invites the lady to her house, Archie realises that the woman is black and so is her husband. But Archie isn't disturbed when he finds out that the man is a cop, which could be good for Archie's safety.

b: 11-Mar-1979 pc: 921 w: Mel Tolkin and Larry Rhine d: Paul Bogart

NOTE: This episode marks the last episode of Allan Melvin (Barney Hefner) in the series All in the Family.
Louise, played by Isabel Sanford, is the final character of the Jeffersons family to appear in the series.

I guess what I should have said is none of the characters from the parent show never appeared on the SPINOFF

Archie or Edith never appeared on the Jeffersons or Maude.

George and Louise never appeared on Florence's spinoff-(Checking IN)

Archie never appeared on the spinoff Gloria
