Default Ur kind of show?

I wanna know, since some people answer post by clinking "view new posts" link, Why or Why don't you like this show?

I love this show, best show of all time in my opinion, but I want to hear what the outside has to say about it.

For me Cheers is more than a show really. It's kind of like a time when I can just shut the world off and enjoy myself guaranteed. Whenever I get a package in the mail or see the show when it's on I just get really happy. I dont think words can do justice how much I love cheers.

I know what you mean steve....Cheers is like a mood...if it's on then I'm happy

also...and this may sound corny...it's like the song says "Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. Taking a break from all your worries sure would help alot..." You take a break from the outside world..

Woody stands up from the crowd, live from New York....

" Wouldnt you like to get away??
Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name!"

Cue Frasier....

"And there always glad you came!!"

thats the ONLY time Kirstie Alley was ever remotely cool.

After watching Cheers for a long time, you kind of think the Cheers cast are your friends. When you turn on your tv, it's like your walking into the bar yourself.

I personally think it is one of, if not the, best show in television history. Great scenario, cast, and theme song. I think it will live on in history with such greats as I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, Andy Griffith, and M*A*S*H.

I like watching a show where I can really sympathize with the characters and feel like I could get to know them as real human beings. I know it sounds a little corny, but I really feel like I could walk into Cheers and consider them all friends.

I also find that a lot of TV shows I can't stand tend to have a lot of characters that reflect the people I try to avoid in real life, which is probably why I never could stand Seinfeld or Friends and why I've gotten so sick of Everybody Loves Raymond. I find the characters so unlikable that I can't watch.

I understand exactly what you mean! I feel like I can go to beacon street, and down those steps and I'll see Norm sitting at the end of the bar.

Why do I like Cheers? Well, give me a reason why I shouldn't. It's just a great show.
Plus it's weird... I feel like I know everyone there in person.

Here's the thing...

To me, Cheers (ONLY during the Diane Years, though) was probably the most enjoyable thing I've ever seen. To watch two characters (Sam and Diane) have a kind of electric chemistry that flowed with no effort at all is just fun and entertaining. (That kind of chemistry is what drew me to Moonlighting, too.)

When I watch Cheers, I don't have to pay attention to every little detail like with some other shows. I can turn it on right in the middle and be able to enjoy it just as much as those who sit and take notes on it.

Cheers can be looked at so many ways. You can take it at surface value: A hugely funny show with great characters. Or you can look deeper into it...study it: Why didn't Sam and Diane's relationship last? Why were Sam and Coach the only ones Carla ever liked? Why did Diane try to leave the bar so many times?

That bar changed those people, no matter which way you look at it. This is just one of those shows that you can sink your teeth into.

In short...IT ROCKS!!!

Later, dudes!

~Lauren

BTW: Happy 300th post to me!!!
