Default Did you hear about that wacko guy who tried to shoot someone?

Sorry if this has been already posted, but i turned on the TV, and it was on CNN. And i saw this guy who started approaching this other guy, who was behind a tree, and started shooting. FORTUNATELY, they guy didnt get killed. I mean, the innocent guy was just moving behind the skinny tree, and after about 7 shots, he was still alive! The guy with the gun stopped suddenly, and started walking along like nothing happened! Luckily, there were bunches of cameramen there, and he got attacked and arrested! Whew, that was close! But freaky!

That footage is very disturbing. It's a miracle beyond words that the man didn't die by getting shot at such close range.
Evidently, the shooter had just had a bad outcome in his probate (estate) case, and that was his lawyer he was shooting at.
Jay Leno joked that the shooter is going to have a hard time finding a lawyer to defend him. :lol

Coincidently, Robert Blake's trial was underway inside while this madness was going on outside.

I guess this is what you're talking about

http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/West/10/3...hot/index.html

Lawyer shot outside courthouse

VAN NUYS, California (CNN) -- A 60-year-old man shot and seriously wounded an attorney Friday outside the courthouse where actor Robert Blake will stand trial for murder, Los Angeles police said.

There is no indication the shooting was related to Blake's case. (More on the Blake hearing)

The shooting happened about 10:20 a.m. PST in the presence of a number of bystanders.

Police identified the gunman as William Striler and said he pulled a revolver from his coat and fired six shots at attorney Jerry Curry, 53. The victim ducked behind a small tree to avoid being shot, but was struck multiple times in the upper body, Los Angeles Police Capt. Jim Miller said.

The gunman calmly pocketed his weapon and walked away after the shooting. Police then took him into custody. One officer confiscated an envelope that fell from the gunman's pocket as he was tackled.

Although the gunman fired from nearly point-blank range, his bloodied victim was responsive to emergency personnel before being taken by ambulance to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills. "His injuries are serious but do not appear to be life-threatening," Miller said.

The police spokesman said it appears that Striler was angry about a probate case, but he didn't offer details. The suspect, he said, was not talking.

Yeah, that was pretty freaky footage.

The thing I find really interesting about this whole incident is that the reporters refer to this man as the "suspected gunman."

Look, I know in our judicial system, you are innocent until proven guilty, but the guy is shown on tape shooting another man! He's not the "alleged" shooter, he is the shooter!

I saw it several times yesterday, first on Court TV, then it popped up on MSNBC, Fox News, and CNN. Very freaky.
