Question Questions

I love the show from season1-8 but the last season was not one of my favorite seasons.

Did anyone notice that when the show started Becky was the smart brainy kid, but after she married Mark and they changed the actress the character became stupid?

In the early episodes with Mark he has his own apartment so how come him and Becky couldnt get anything better to live in then that trailer and her parents house?

Did anyone else notice that they made Mark out to be a bad @ss when he first started on the show, then suddenly he wasnt a bad @ss he was made to be stupid? and when did he quit smoking?

Has anyone noticed that people around Roseanne turn dumb, or becomes gay at some point on the show?
Tom Arnolds character Arnie was dumb
Her mom Bev turned Gay
Jackie we find out was the gay one
Mark turned from rebel to dumb
Becky turned from A student to a person who became dumb
Sandra Bernhardt's character Nancy turned out to be Gay & Dumb
Martin Mull's character was Gay
Dans mom was skitso

In the last episode Roseanne states that Becky was really with David, but wasnt she like 2 years older then Darlene and wasnt David Darlenes age? So she was with a guy 2 years (at least) younger and Darlene was with Mark who was at least 4 years older then her cause he was 18 when Becky was 16. So Roseanne and Dan must have caved in and let a 14 yr old Darlene date an 18 yr old Mark?
Also I cant see Mark taking all Darlenes smack like David did.

Jackie was pretty normal till she joined the police, did anyone else think she started to become stupid after she left the force. It seemed to me the shorter her hair the dumber she got. I loved her character when the show started then she became annoying.

If Dan really died during the wedding episode then why would she want to memorialize him a form that showed him as having/almost having an affair on her and not the loving husband he was to her?

Is there ever going to be a reunion, they did leave some unanswered questions.........

Did Jackie really have a baby (andy) if she was really gay? Was this child a product of a one night stand or before she came out the closet, or was this just the way Roseanne thought Jackie should have been, a mother?

Becky announces that she was pregnant, did she have a boy or girl?

Does she still own the Loose Meat or did she really give it to Nancy and Leon?

Did her book sell or did she ever try to publish it?

Did Darlene ever finish school and take a great job offer like she offered in one of the episodes?

Did Becky ever go to college?

What happened to Bev's girlfriend, since she wasnt gay? Was that really Jackies girlfriend or did she not exist?

Those were some really good questions and I don't think they will ever be answered. That's the curse of a last episode. So many things you are wondering and it keeps you wondering. The show sticks with you.

I don't want a reunion special because the show would be totally different. I mean, Darlene with Mark and Becky with David, Jackie not getting into crazy situations with men, Dan dead. I don't want to see that. I'll take my reruns anyday.

As a newcomer to Roseanne, I can't answer a single question that you posed, but I do want to thank you. I just learned more from your post than reading all the others put together.
I wonder a lot about what becomes of these characters, and I don't care if I'm surprised either.
I had no idea about Bev or Jackie being gay...if they are.
Anyway, thanks and I enjoyed reading your post.

The reason Roseanne did that is because when Dan died, she felt cheated by his death and was angry because he had been taken away from her, which manifested itself in her writing as him having an affair.

Great questions - I particularly liked the bit about everyone being dumb and/or gay around Roseanne
