Default Odd Couple Unedited

watching the odd couple as reruns on wpix they would cut scenes from the show at times...but later on the scenes they edited for years were finally shown....did you guys notice this too?....there were scenes I remember seeing on abc but thought I was imaging until they were shown later on!!

That's cool! So are they showing them uncut now? I am in the Milwaukee area, and am stuck with the old cut syndicate versions with about 3 minutes gone per episode plus the long ago deleted tag scenes, which TV Land restored when they had the rights to the show.....The true test is the "Trapped" episode. I posted Phiilip's "Mad Scientist Scene" so if you see it when your New York station shows it, note that this scene has not been seen in the show for at least 15 years!

I haven't noticed it...then again, I wasn't watching it when it was on ABC.

I would say the ones on WPIX now are edited in some way.

I have been taping them, and the commercial breaks seem pretty long, comparable to other syndicated reruns that I know are edited.

I agree, I'm sure they're edited somehow.

It must be that they're doing different editing for the next run through the episodes. Channel 5 from New York did this For the second run through the episodes, they restored footage they took out the first time and took out different footage for the second telecasts of the episodes.

I have to tape an episode and compare it to my tape from last year.

I don't know if I have the will to retape the entire series, even if it has additional footage.

And since this run will have something else cut out, what am I supposed to do? Edit the episode footage together to make a complete one?

To do that for the entire run would be tedious.

Just release the DVD dammit!!!

Default Paramount logo

Also I saw that tv stations cut off the end of the closing credits that has the Gulf+Western logo which was a division of Paramount. Now the Viacom one is on them.
