Default Bottom of his Crumb List

Remember when Marcia went out with Greg's enemy, Warren Mulaney? She came home after her date and told her parents he was "just OK" and she wouldn't go out with him again.

Later, when Greg told Marcia not to go out with Warren, she decided she would , just so Greg wouldn't think he is telling her what to do. They were arguing loudly in the kitchen and the parents came in and asked what was going on. Marcia said, "Greg told me I couldn't go out with Warren" etc. The parents told Greg that she could. The problem then escalated when Greg brought home one of Marcia's enemies to get back at her .

Why didn't the parents just nip this in the bud when they had the chance? They should have told her, "You said Warren wasn't that great. Why do you want to go out with him now?" If not that, then how about, "You can see him, but you don't have to keep bringing him here. The two of you can study at the library."

That was dumb that the parents let them play a big game of "Ill get back at you" instead of stopping it right away.

Yeah, they always do this: let a situation get way too out-of-hand before stopping it.

For instance, the "Fright Night" episode. They were like "Sometimes you can carry something too far and someone gets hurt" but they let the kids keep trying to outscare each other. Remember when Carol said, "I wonder what's going to happen next?" and Mike said, "I don't know, but you can count on it!"

If Mike knew something bad was going to happen, why didn't he tell the kids, "The next one to pull a prank gets grounded" or something like that?

You're right. Greg even asked if he could have anyone over the house that he wanted (meaning Marcia's enemy). The parents said "sure" and he had a big grin on his face. They even said
something like, "I wonder what he's up to." They should have said something to both of them to stop it immediately.

In the slumber party episode, Mr. Brady became very suspicious when the boys were excited about the party, especially when Bobby was giggling. Not only did he not stop right there to see what was going on, he and Carol went out to eat and left Alice to take care of everything by herself!

You're right. That was kind of a dirty thing to do to poor Alice.
