Mr Ed a Zebra? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I've heard or read somewhere that a zebra played Mr Ed once or several times because the zebra was better behaved. My coworkers teased me about it until one of looked it up on the net about a zebra playing Mr Ed. Yet I've searched myself and can't find anything about a zebra playing the part. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks, Deb

If Mr. Ed was a zebra, then Gentle Ben was a koala bear.

The first link is the false rumour of Mr. Ed being a zebra & the second is basically an explanation by the same person as to why they started it.

Mr. Ed was never played by a zebra on the version that appeared in our solar system. Maybe your friends saw another version from outer space.

It is true that Mister Ed was used as a zebra, but only briefly in handful of scenes where Ed wasn't capable at doing some difficult stunts, but as for the rumor that the zebra was used the entire time; is false.
