Default Something Foolish a female did to get a guy's attention she did not know

It's a program called Dating Patrol on the Learning Channel and this women saw a guy standing outside of his car and she wanted to strike a conversation to get to now him and this was the first thing that came out of her mouth

"EXCUSE ME, IS THIS YOUR CAR? IT"S REALLY NICE"

How many guys think that was a dumb way for a female to start up a conversation with a guy she didn't know?

It is odd because she was basically ignoring him and just focusing on his car. I would told her to get away from me.

How is complimenting a guy on his car a bad thing? If you're going to ask the men if that was a dumb way for a woman to start a conversation, how about the "Do you believe in love at first sight? Maybe I should walk by again," line I've heard from men... think about it before you start talking about how stupid it was for her to talk about his car.

By the way, that's no offense to men.. just trying to make a point.

I'm sure all men are satisfied with being complimented on their car instead of their looks-LOL So basically he should have been content with a female only talking to him because of his car. Is that what you are saying?

Not to start anything but why are you constantly posting threads that have to do with dating and how stupid women are? I seriously dont understand what your gripe is with women. You post about stuff like this a lot. Maybe I missed something...I dunno. Just somebody fill me in because I just dont understand....

She wasn't "focusing on the car." She was starting a conversation.

She could have just plain said that she liked his car. But, I guess she was nervous and silly things come out of people's mouths when that happens.

Thank you. I've been wondering this too but I was afraid to ask.

Nope, what I'm saying that is you really need to think before you start posting about how 'foolish' it was for a woman to compliment a man on his car just to... start a conversation. I was trying to make a point when I used the line I've heard a million times from men about love at first sight, rather than just saying hello to the woman if he wants to talk to her.

A man would rather be complimented on his car rather than his looks. Yep, I'm sure he would. And a woman would rather you look at her face and not her chest when you're talking to her. Use your head before posting this kind of stuff, and while you're at it, give me and the rest of the women on this board a break.

I do not think it is foolish for a woman to approach a man; I honestly think men like it when a woman makes the first initial reation towards a conversation....

Exactly. You're getting the person to start talking about something that is theirs and they care about, whether it be a car or their earrings, anything that leads to more questions, and more talking.

At the risk of sounding like a superficial "guy," men don't always choose a car because of great gas milage. If you're driving around in a hot car, you're looking for attention. I didn't see this dating show we're talking bout here, but I'm sure that wasn't the first time this guy heard some girl compliment him on his car.

Exactly, that's what I've always heard. So why is it such a foolish thing for a woman to compliment him on his car?
