Sad I feel this has to be said.

(Note: THIS IS ONLY MY POINT OF VIEW, AS I SEE IT. I AM TRYING TO KEEP THIS CLEAN SO PLEASE DO NOT BASH ME FOR USING BAD LANGUAGE. ALSO, I AM NOT NAMING NAMES, OK?)

This saddens me every time I come to SO. No, I'm not thinking about it in real life or anything like that. However, this problem is just getting worse.

THERE'S WAY TOO MANY FIGHTS HERE.

What happened to settling matters over PM's? Isn't that done anymore? From my POV, that doesn't seem to be happening. People just feel they have to battle it out right there in the open, for everybody to see. I have been in one TOO many threads in the last couple of weeks where a fight has ensued. I really do not want to fight with the other people here. I simply came here to make friends with other people and I am proud to say I have a wide variety of friends. I have my HD friends; I have my Mama's Family friends; I have my Random Posts friends; I have so many more friends I cannot possibly list here. Yet, a few of those friends of mine hate each other and love to go at each other's throats when they're here. It really saddens me and it is really difficult to be friends with them. I really don't want to take sides, so if my friends start going at each other's throats, I just stay out of it and don't take sides.

Please, please, please take your fights to PM's. I've gotten many headaches recently just coming here and seeing a fight occur. To me, it seems I can't even innocently mention somebody's name, and then people get all postal on me for it. What's up with that? I would just like for it to be possible so I could mention somebody's name and not get involved in a fight over that person. Recently, a friend and I had an argument, but it was done the right way: we settled it over PM's and we're buddies, once again. I wish that were possible here. I may not be able to completely stop all the fighting, but I could at least help bring down the #s of fighting.

It's not too hard to do. Take all fights to PM's. And honestly, guys, this is THE INTERNET. You need to start learning how to forgive and forget and move on. I forgive and forget and the past is the past; you can't change that. Just move on.

I hope this post made a lot of people think. I like you all, and I would just like for Sitcoms Online to be at least a happier place again. Stuff will still happen, but I want this to be a little more happier place to come to, once again. Thanks!

Fighting has been around this place a long time. One of the earliest fights I can remember is the "Nancy McKeon Can't Act" thread that the Nancy cult so lovingly kept alive. If anything, there's less fights here these days. The fights on the Divion and Facts boards got so bad, they were closed down for a while. Nothing but threads about suicide, board queens, outsiders flaming other members by insulting their goddess, overusing the word fuck in posts, etc. I occasionally go to that board and read those old fights. They're quite amusing.

But yea, I agree with the Internet comment. People take this place so seriously. Hello, you've never seen these people and you probably never will within your lifetime, so what's the point? I know I've made a few people mad at me, but they're probably all over it. It's just a thin little phone line connecting us all...no need to get all flamed up.

That's good to hear.

I remember hearing about that board getting shut down.

Finally, somebody who agrees with me about this just being the Internet!

I definately agree. This is supposed to be the place where I can get away from all of that crap, not just see more of it. I have enough trouble off the internet, that I don't want to see it here, too. I don't think I've ever been in any big fights here and I don't plan on it. What's the point anyway? We're supposed to chat and make friends, not fight and make more ememies. And if you are going to fight, like Allie said, just take it to PM's.

Agreed. There's no need for bickering.

Oh God, I remember those. Me, Kaitlyn, and Jenny even did a test to see if she would copy us if everyone put a 'Smiley in a Jar' in their sigs. Incidentally, I have it in right now.

There is too much negative stuff on TV, at work and even driving. I used to love coming here, I still love the HD board. But sometimes this site can be a downer.

Oh Lord...that was the greatest. The fights now aren't quite as bad as they used to be. I remember reading the old ones and knowing not to get involved. It seems to me that the fighting comes and goes in stages. It gets really bad, then dies down. Just let it die down on its own.

IMO, I think sometimes fights are started on puporse whether it be for attention or to get someone in trouble. But yes, either take it to PM's or eat some damn cry baby soup and take a nap. I'm not a mediator and dont care to read a fight in every other thread.
