Default A sneak peek on "Joher Speaks..."

Much to my surprise, Joher called me again last night. I have little time to talk, but let me say that Joher is a storyteller and I enjoyed listening to what he had to say. (We spoke for about an hour and a half).

I got him to answer some of the ?s, so here's a preview...

He mentioned his favorite people to work with on the set. (He didn't mention the whole cast, just 4 in detail he really loved to work with.)

In regards to what he did to try to alleviate the sitch as to his little screen time on the set, he said he wrote a script he wanted them to use where Jawaharlal has this crush on Maria (they didn't use that)...and IRL, he had a mad crush on Leslie. "Who wouldn't?" He said. "She's hot. She's a beautiful, all-american girl." I replied with "I KNEW IT!" Remember earlier in these boards where I mentioned my suspicions to that? I was right. They happened to be near each other in many scenes. (He didn't really give a clear answer as to whether she liked him back like that.)

Mentioned his name change.

He's going to e-mail me with more answers to the ?s.

The embarrassing thing is, he saw "The Story on Jory" for the first time last night...while we were on the phone! Of course, I was turning red with embarrassment. "Come on," he said. "You obviously have a reason for contacting me and asking me all these questions...don't be embarrassed!" (Read where I thought the mini-mart guy he played in "Earth Girls Are Easy" was stereotyped, and told me to "rewatch it, and see that he really wasn't at all.")

Let me tell you all, Joher is nothing like Jawaharlal. He's loud, goofy, boisterous, and a lot more outgoing than Jawaharlal....in a good way.

I will let you guys know a little more when the process is more complete!

Here's another snippet from the other day:

Joher was shocked at how HOTC is still touching lives to this day. I had mentioned how a 17-year-old (Raye) is now into it...when the show just turned 17 recently.

Joher: I think the show started airing in '87.
Me: No, it was '86.
Joher: Really? Are you sure?
Me: Yep, it started in September '86.
Joher: Really? That long ago?! Man, I'm getting old. I'm an old man, I'll tell ya! OLD MAN! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH! (laughing)
Me: (laughing) Dude, stop that. You are not old.

He is an interesting character, I tell you.

I gotta step out to this citywide forum on the state of education here in Buffalo...but one last thing before I go.

Joher wants to start a personal fan site. Imagine that.

Another thing...

His name is pronounced Jaw-her. I asked him through e-mail awhile back before we started talking on the phone. (The last thing I needed to do was mispronounce his name...so thank god I asked, since I woulda been way off.) Jory was his mother's nickname for him. Aww.

So spill Dee...how long was the talks on the phone???

P.s Aaaaa I changed my Avatar I miss the old one. Yet I need a change, since I miss Eric 2 much. Im thinking of the change as mourning for the show lol Some people wear Black, I put sexy David on things. If the show comes back on I will add eric on my Avatar again ...maybe sooner lol

Actually, his name of birth is Johar (I cannot spell it phonetically to save my life...it sounded like he pronounced it J'wahr or something like that). He talked about how no one he knew could pronounce it properly..."people would pronounce it like 'Jo-hair', like the hair on someone's head!", so he changed it to the more pronounceable "Joher," which is a Persian version of his father's name.

As for the avatar, I like it! Definitely a good idea to put Brian Robbins back on when (I say when, not if, because I'm thinking positively) HOTC comes back on!
