Edna Garrett is divorced! Why would she want to be called Mrs? Why not Ms?

This isn't really a mistake, or all that uncommon, especially for the time period. It may seem odd in 2001, but in 1978 when the character of Edna Garrett was created, it wasn't that unusual for a divorcee to keep her married name. The title Ms. was still fairly new, and Miss referred to a younger lady.
