How could I forget "Chigaco Sons," a short lived 1997 sitcom starring Jason Bateman and one of the reigning queens of one-season wonders, Paula Marshall.

Cool

The setting of a show is often chosen by how large a cities market is. Thats why Chicago is so popular. They hope by setting a show there, everyone in Chicago will want to watch. I cant remember all the exact details, but there was an article about it when the drew carey show came out, about how cities were chosen like that.

set in chicago

Married with Children

21 jump street -- there is debate whether this is set in Chicago or detroit. i dont believe it was ever mentioned, but Toms friends all went to the University of Michigan, so, I choose Detroit.

this isnt a sitcom, but can anyone remember if hill street blues was set in Chicago. I always thought it was and my friend disagrees.

Hill Street Blues (whose theme song I LOVE!!! ) was set in New York City, yet it was filmed in the Windy City.

Actually, they never were very specific about what city the show was set in.
If they filmed the extertiors in Chicago, why didn't they just set it in Chigaco?

Of course I could be wrong, It's been a while since I've seen the show, but I don't think they ever mentioned the city they worked in by name. I guess they wanted people to think this show could have taken place in any Eastern City.

I'm not positive, but I think Still Standing is set in Chicago. The family are big Cub fans. They wear the hats and shirts with the Cub's logo.

Also, the short-lived HBO show, The Mind of The Married Man was set in Chicago.
